I love the smell of lilac (I have a " fake " lilac oil), and I've been

searching through the net because it's so hard to find lilac oils for

sale even here in the net. Here's what I found out...

----

SYRINGA VULGARIS L. ABSOLUTE

Synonyms : LILAC ABSOLUTE (SYRINGA VULGARIS); SYRINGA VULGARIS L.

ABSOLUTE;

Next to rose and jasmin, the Lilac fragrance is probably the perfume

which is most frequently created by the perfumer from synthetic and

natural raw materials. Up to now, the essential oil producing houses

have been unable to offer a true, natural oil, derived from lilac

flowers and representing these flowers satisfactorily in odor effect.

Only a few houses in Grasse, France offer materials which are said to

be derived exclusively from lilac flowers. An absolute has been

prepared from the flowers of lilac by hydrocarbon solvent extraction

and subsequent alcohol extraction of the produced concrete.

MAGICAL PROPERTIES

Part used: fresh flowers

Planet: Venus

Element: Earth

Magical Influences: Love, Purification

The scent of fresh lilac flowers was once thought to drive away

ghosts. Like many flowers, lilacs can be utilized in love-expansion

rituals. The sweet fragrance of these seasonal blooms brims with

loving energies. Or, inhale the aroma rising from the light purple

flowers for internal purification. To cleanse a home, place jars of

the fresh flowers in several rooms. Lilacs are scarce around these

parts, since most species must freeze in order to produce blooms.

Still, I manage to smell the flowers once or twice yearly.

NO TRUE LILAC ESSENTIAL OILS IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE.

Didn't found pretty much anything else on lilac.

I also know that chrysantemum is a concrete, so it must be very hard

to find them out. If anyone knows if there are any companies selling

these oils (true oils, of course!), please post here.

Anyway, can we make infused oils from lilac flowers?

Hugs,

Lena

If you find a way to make an infused oil, let me know! Lilac is my fav of

all scents and I tried an alcohol infusion which didn't work well. I have

to settle for fragrance oil right now and would love a better way.

Me too! Lilac and sunflower are my two absolute favorite flowers! I'd be interested in lilac.
