Guest guest
Hi Michele, I do what is called " nasal douching " ... To do that I start with a plain saline solution (salt and water). If there is an infection I make a weak Goldenseal tea and then add the salt to that and use that as the saline solution (you do NOT want to take Goldenseal internally while pg., but a nasal douche with it should not be dangerous). Then I proceed to irrigate the sinus passages .. That can be done using a Neti Pot (it looks like a ceramic Aladdin's Lamp) .. to use a Neti Pot one fills it with the saline solution and just tips their head back and lets water flow from the spout of the pot into the nose and then spit out the solution when it hits the throat/mouth .... OR if you don't have a Neti-pot (like me) just make the same solution, put some in the palm of a hand and snort it up the nose (no, it is not fun - and don't forget to spit As for EO's ... I like to diffuse throughout the house a combo of Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Tea Tree, Lavender, Turkish Sage, Rosemary and Oregano .... I just keep a pot of water steaming on the stove on lowest heat and drop my oils in there ... You can also try a steam inhale (sitting over a bowl of steaming water with a towel over the head) but considering that you are pg., if it were me, I'd limit the Essential Oils for steam inhalation to Lavender and Eucalyptus (since you'll be getting a higher concentration of EO in your system that way than through diffusion) .... Feel better .... *Hugs* Chris I Love My Country And I Will Defend Her http://www.alittleolfactory.com - " Michele " <mbrantner Monday, September 24, 2001 11:32 AM AT for sinus infections? > Hi all, > I need a quick favor, which oils can I use for a sinus infection/headache? > My dr said I could use the antibiotics he gave me plus sudafed and tylenol, > but that seems a bit much for my little passenger, so I'm looking for > something to put in steaming water and clear my sinuses with the steam.
