Guest guest
I've been experiencing abdominal pain to the left and above my navel. The pain sometimes flares out to the hip/flank area. I've also had shooting pains up my rectum. My poops alternate between normal and covered with mucous. In fact, several times all I poop is pure mucous. Sometimes I get very constipated, then loose and usually bloated and sometimes nausea. My butt has also been very, very itchy. And lots of fatigue. I've been experiencing this for about 6-8 months. I've had upper GIs, lower GIs, x-rays, blood work, etc. I've been tested for parasites and heavy metals but the tests back normal. My white blood cell count was normal. I had a colonopscopy and several bioposies. The small intestine was normal but the large intestine came back with mucous near the opening of the small intestine. In fact you could see the mucous there during the colonopscopy. The GI doctor said the mucous is not IBS or Chrons or anything my body is causing. He said that it is due to an outside factor causing my body to react this way. Something environmental. The thing is my whole family is being affected by this in varying degrees. My husband has the pain, the itch but so far not the mucous. My children have had the itch and some of the pain and nausea. We've switched to bottled water and had some mold tests done but so far nothing. I would think if it mold it would be more respiratory. It seems like the itchy butt is when it lessens, the painful shooting pain up the butt is when it is very irritated. At first, a nurse said internal hemmeroids but nothing was found. We were even treated for pinworms as a precautionary although nothing was found. Can anyone think what might be causing this? I thought parasites but the tests came back normal. And the mucous is something I haven't read about before. We've gone on filtered water, unfiltered water, had a mold test in the house, etc. Nothing. Even switched refrigerators thinking something was in the water line. Any help would be appreciated. I keep being sent to one doctor after another and they all say, " I Don't know.
