Guest guest
Could you please guide me. I have a brother having schiz., with paranoid ideas and occasional visual hallucination. Here in India nobody does blood histamine estimation. Patient's absolute basophil level was very low below the reference range. This suggests he would be low in histamine (histapenic). I managed to send the blood sample to a lab in Australia where they did the estimation of histamine in blood and urine. The results read as below: " Histamine: 0.03 umol/mmol creatinine 1-methyl histamine: 0.13 umil/mmol creatinine urine creatinine: 5.399umol/L " What do these values mean? The Australian lab has not given me any normal or reference values to compare. Has the Australian lab estimated histamine level or the creatinine level or (somehow) the histamine via the route of creatinine? Anyway, are the patient's blood and urine readings below normal or normal? Or else, please tell me whom to contact to interpret the values mentioned above. With regards to you.
