Will You Let Uncle Sam Take Your Kids? Your Grandkids? How

bout Yourself?

Support for the war is dropping, and the DC spin machine, via the US

media, is making it " look like " the administration is starting to

think about getting us out of Iraq.

But let us not be fooled - We are in there for the long haul, as is

evidenced by our building permanent military bases in Iraq (links below.)

Okay, so let's just say that due to the low approval rating in Iraq

(down now to 34%), we start to reduce our troops there. (We do know

with great certainty, by the way, that we'll never be getting out of

Iraq totally, just like we're not out of Afghanistan, either.) But

even if we greatly reduce troops in Iraq, what then, about all of the

other nations that are still yet gleams in the eye of PNAC and the

neo-cons?

We can not allow ourselves the luxury of believing for even a nano-

second that the US military will be out of this war business anytime

soon. They've got way too good a thing happenin' with far too many

greedy pockets being lined to be able to stop the whole bloody ball game.

But how will they keep getting the warm bodies in order to continue

filling staffing needs inside tanks and behind rifles? It's going to

take your kids' lives and mine in order to keep those tanks rollin'

into new oil-rich horizons in the neocons' wildly stimulating

fantasies of wars in " multiple theatres. "

Ya see, though, the problem is, that military recruiting efforts, as

hard-focused as they are and as big as the bribes (as high as $50,000)

may be? They're just not doin' the trick. I mean, who wants to go

overseas and die (or, maybe even worse yet, be slowly, painfully

Depleted Uranium-poisoned to death) for a buck?

Americans are starting to wake up. Today's kids are smarter than that

and not as all as clueless as Kissinger thought when he called

military men " dumb, stupid animals to be used. "

Nope, even Uncle Sam's greasy outstretched palms are not working any

longer. After a certain point (which has started already) he's simply

not going to be able to pay our kids off in order to fill his

cannon-fodder quotas.

Sorry, Uncle Sam, you can't buy enough of our kids to keep your war

plan going.

Many have speculated that it will take another " Pearl Harbor " attack

in order to justify getting their grips on our kids. Some are saying

that such an attack will even allow Cheney's wet dream of nukin' Iran

in order to justify mandating national draft (I mean uh, " national

service " as they've started to call it now.)

All this is pure speculation at this point. But still, we have to

think hard about this: How are the hungry war-mongering investors and

contractors going to get their mitts on enough human-power in order to

keep the war *business* machine goin' for the long haul?

We know they're desperate, as is evidenced by the recent push to

enlist 60 to 70 year olds in the war effort. If that's not desperate,

I don't know what is.

So, to all those who love a young person (or are, yourself, a young

adult) what do we need to do in order to wake up our neighbors? How

can we tell our family and friends that even reducing presence in Iraq

is not going to do a thing to stop this military machine from

swallowing up as many of our kids as it can?

Right now, parents, grandparents, and students must unite in saying:

No, Uncle Sam, you are NOT going to get my kid so you can make your

billions. Like we urge our kids to " Just Say No " to drugs? I am

urging you, parent to parent, to just say NO to letting them get our

kids into " national service, " as well.

Rhetoric in support of mandatory national service has already begun in

the ranks of political leadership. We must act quickly, folks! See

below for resources and more information. This is going to take

everyone - you and me, *all* of us - in order to stop this before it

becomes a bill and gets unanimous support in Congress.

Join a group. Or start a group yourself, just you and one other

friend. Others will join you before long.

We can't put this off any longer, and we must be prepared to act right

now, before the rhetoric turns into an actual bill. We have seen too

many bills lately fly through with unanimous bipartisan support in

efforts such as continued war funding for Iraq, and also the recent

Patriot {sic} Act.

Parent to parent, we've got to put politics aside now and unite with

one another in this, like never before in the history of our nation.

Our chant must begin:

NO DRAFT, NO NATIONAL SERVICE, NO WAY !!!

We don't have the luxury of taking a " wait and see " approach. We must

start working right now, as their plans are already in the works (see

below). Please join with me and other parents, grandparents, young

persons, and other concerned citizens who are just saying NO to

mandatory national service right now.

PS - You might be like me and not even have a teenager. That's okay.

This still applies to our younger kids, too. Once the national

service is in place, it's not expected to just go away anytime soon.

Just like the wars, the national service is predicted to be with us

.... for the long haul.
