Guest guest
My 11 year old daughter has been having severe headaches for about a week and a half now. We orginally thought it might be sinus, and she was started on an antibiotic 5 days ago, and has had no relief. She takes 3 allergy meds a day: claritin, nasonex, and Singulair. She has not responded to Advil. We went throught this exact same thing last year and went to a Pediatirc ENT, who said her sinuses were normal, a Pediatric Neurologist, who said she had migraines and started her on Keppra and Zomig with no results, and an allergist who tested her and she was allergic to everything environmental and was started on the allergy meds. It wasn't until we started seeing a chiropractor in February that her headaches finally went away. We are still seeing the chiropractor, but the headaches are returning. She's woken up crying the past 2 days, they've been so severe. I don't know what else to try. Cat Scans of her head were normal, CBC and Immunoglobulins were normal. Hormonal maybe? But how would I treat that? Any ideas are welcome! I'm ready to try anything!

Guest guest
My daughter had the same symptoms at a little older age. I took her to see a orthopedic specialists for children. They gave her some adjustments, medicine and exercises to strengthen her neck at the time. They said somehow she was pinching a nerve in her neck. She no longer has the headaches. Her spine/neck area were out of alinement due to the way she slept and the pillow she slept on. Her headaches on awaking were sometimes so severe she would get fever and then vomit. I don't know if this can help you or not, but it would be good to rule out this problem. Guest guest
Your daughter is on meds that dehydrate your system. Start making her drink more water. I have found that many headaches are caused by simple dehydration. I know it sounds like a really simple solution and it may not work for your situation but it can't hurt. It almost always works for me. Does she drink juices, sodas or caffine. These can dehydrate also. The book " Your not sick you're just thirsty " has been a good resource for me.Hope this helps. abhi_dubey20052005 <abhi_dubey20052005 wrote: --- In , " Laura " <lazars wrote: >namaste! teach her neti kriya , this will cool down her head. also later steam twice a day and then teach her tantra yoga. it helps in equalising all body energies > My 11 year old daughter has been having severe headaches for about a > week and a half now. Guest guest
First of all, what benefit do you think making her take all those medicines is having on her. It sounds like you care so much for her that she is a bit stressed out. I would strongly recommend a visit to a psychologist. When tests fail to show a problem and medicines give no relief, and the chiropractor only gave temporary relief, it's time to look at the problem a different way. It sounds like stress related symptoms. My 11 year old son had a similar problem. Due to a temporary change in our living conditions, he was feeling a bit neglected. He started waking up with headches. Fortunately, I recognized the problem and we nipped it in the bud. Good Luck! p.s. This is just a suggestion. Guest guest
a few suggestions - I have a 24 year old, and have dealt with this with her for 12 years. You can request hormone level testing to see if it's hormonal. (at 12 mine had a cyst in the ovaries throwing off her hormone balance.) And if you already have a clean bill of health from her eye doctor then check with an ophthalmologist to see if there is any swelling of the optical nerves. Also, ask your Dr. if her migraines could be cluster .. it makes a difference as to what medicine they give her. I hate to even suggest this...but if all else fails, drug test her. Sorry, but you just never know these days... she could even have been given something, she didn't know would make it worse, or didn't know she was given....good luck Growing old is mandatory: growing up is optional!! Guest guest
Poor baby; she has all of my sympathy. I had bad headaches when I was young, too. They now think they might trace to a car accident I was in. But, at the time, no one could figure out a thing so doctors started throwing drugs at me. When I felt even worse generally, I threw them out and toughed it out after that. Now, I manage just fine with a combination of chiropractic adjustments and deep tissue massage. The muscles and such around my neck and shoulders - even the front of my chest - get very tight. When that happens, a headache follows so I try to stay ahead of the game and schedule regular massage with the occasional adjustment. Have you told the chiro that the headaches were gone but now have returned? Perhaps he'd have some answers or needs to know to fine tune what he is doing. With that, it wouldn't hurt to send her for a massage but make sure you're getting something therapeutic, not a relaxation type of massage. Perhaps after one your daughter can see if that helped or didn't make a difference, then you'll know how to proceed. It can take more than one to truly help, but I think you can tell after one if you get someone who truly understands clinical massage. Guest guest
My daughter had migraines virtually every day for many years. They were worse just before weather changes. We tried homeopathy, allergy elimination treatments, cranio-sacral, osteopathy, acupuncture (worked for short while), loads of nutritional supplements, magnets, etc. What finally worked was removal of mercury since that was her root cause. It was causing her brain to be chronically inflamed (chronic meningitis). I don't really have time for writing on the group now so please email me personally for all the details: hotmocha. I've often found relief from headaches by doing EFT. Learn how at www.emofree.com. Headaches can be very serious. One of my neighbors had severe headaches and had a brain tumor. She had to have a seizure in Emergency in order for them to take her serious. She had a seizure at home and they wanted to send her back home again without checking her out! Oddly enough sometimes the need for glasses can cause severe headaches. Does your daughter have any scars? Had operations? Does she have any amalgam fillings or implants? Any chance of a tooth infection? Just trying to rule out any possible causes. There's not much worse than seeing your child in pain. Hope you get to the root of it soon. Let us know when you do. Guest guest
Here are a few things you can do when suffering from chronic migraine headaches which do not go away with medicines. 1. Begin your spiritual practice. We have suggested spiritual practice that conforms to the five basic principles of spiritual practice. You can find details in our section on, `Start your spiritual journey'. 2. Repetition of the protective chant of Sree Gurudev Datta to protect against ancestors. 3. Salt water remedy 4. Chant for headaches that have been caused by ghosts All this would need to be done on a daily basis. Steps 3 and 4 can be discontinued after few months after the headache is completely stopped. However steps 1 and 2 are best continued lifelong as it is the only protection against our vulnerability towards ghosts. In this case, the vulnerability is evident from the migraine headache which was not being cured by conventional medication. Continued spiritual practice and chanting of the `Sree Gurudev Datta' protection chant also affords protection against the spiritual root causes which account for up to 80% of the various problems in our lives. For more information please visit & also login and ask questions if you have any. I am sure all your queries will be answered. http://www.spiritualresearchfoundation.org/spiritualresearch/spiritualityandheal\ th/control_migraine/ , gemni romantic <gemni35romantic wrote: > > hi sharon, > may god bless ur daughter with immuntiy, well > sharon i am a yoga teacher n nd so i wanan suggest you > tht u convey ur daughter to do KAPALBHATI FOR ATLEAST > FOR 30MINUTES ,but she should start 5minutes daily thn > slowly slowy increas her migrene can be set only with > KAPALBHATI breathing excercis , after doing this she > should do for 15minutes THE BRAMARI PARANAYAM,means > humming sound, for atleast 15minutes for her sesver > headache,k? > if u dunna know KAPAL BHATI thn reply back me , i wl > make u learn ok? > dont worry god will bless sur daughter k? > bye ommmmmmmm yadvinder pal > --- Sharon <energy_now wrote: > > > > > My daughter had migraines virtually every day for > > many years. Guest guest
It is possibly hormonal-tho you would need a really good naturapath to examine her to qualify a diagnose-keep her off such foods as chocolate-anything spicy-and yes she could have an allergy to something she did not have allergy too before-keep a diary of all foods-eaten 24hrs before headache- check out even talcum powder she uses------ as she may have a allergy to something she wears on occassion----plenty of water to flush system and detox if you can't get a reasonable answer------there are worms or flukes that can live in cysts in the brain--------far more common than one realises--------unfornately the herbs to kill them are poisonous and must be administered carefully--- as they too can give a headache -------but try each thing slowly and observe consistently. diet is obviously the first thing to look at- -make sure of the obvious-no artificial -colours or preservatives----even milk and cordial have additives these days---so monitor all things-lollies for instance-things you are thinking-ok all kids eat them -blah blah---you may have a child with an extrmely sensitive system- tread carefully or she may end up with a far more serious health issue Check out the hottest 2008 models today at Autos. Guest guest
If the chiropractor worked but is on longer, perhaps it is more muscle tension. A chiropractor does a world of good for me but is greatly limited as well as I seem to have more problems with tension and stress effecting my muscles. There are essential oils i use to help this problem. Valor is a great blend that can be mixed with olive oil 1-2 drops essential oil with 2 drops of olive will make it spread further. I would use it faithfully at bed time and morning! You can also try accupressure points. Good Luck to you and God Bless! Guest guest
Dear Mary, I just read your request about your daughter's headaches. My friend just recently had a lot of massage and chiropractor work done on her for a mysterious kind of headache on the right side of her head. I did some reiki on her for a few minutes and a dark cloud lifted away from her head. I could see it with a kind of inner vision that I have. Her head and her emotional state were much better. I know you have tried a lot of things already, but I am suggesting reiki for her. The reiki energy will help even if you don't know exactly what the problem is. Blessings!
