Guest guest
Actually, if the mother has amnio, the DNA can be retrieved prior to birth and sample testing can be done prior to delivery. This is possible and very viable. I had genetic testing done because I was older when I was preggers, 37-8, and wanted to be ready in case my child had special needs upon delivery. With my heritage, Cajun/Anglo/Jewish/Amerind, a number of possible genetic problems were ruled out by the sample retrieved by the amnio. And yes, you find out the sex of the child also, if you so desire. Peace Be The Journey... Cecile M.
