And probably a whole series of " New Year Resolutions " .... Come and explore the thoughts that stand between you and loving your life. I will be returning from Katie's annual 5 day " New Year's cleanse " on the first of the year and look forward to reentering into the Work with you all..... Thursday, January 3rd, 2008 from 10-noon at the Caritas Spiritist Center. Much love for Happy Holidays and a Wonderful 2008!! Konstanze The Caritas Spiritist Center Presents The WORK of Byron Katie Presented by Konstanze Hacker " An unquestioned mind is the world of suffering " (Byron Katie) The WORK of Byron Katie is a revolutionary and simple process that helps clear the mind by identifying and questioning the thoughts that cause all the pain, suffering and violence in the world. Thoughts like " I'm not good enough " , " The world is a dangerous place " , " My partner doesn't understand me " run through our minds many times a day, fostering fear, anger, stress and depression. The WORK consists simply of four questions and a turnaround, which leads us to experiencing the opposite of what we believe and often find freedom therein. Byron Katie, the founder of The WORK is a 64-year old woman who after a long period of depression and paranoia in 1986 made the discovery that when we believe our thoughts, we suffer, but when we question our thoughts, we don't. In two decades of teaching The WORK all over the world, Katie has come to see that this is true for every human being. Both the introductory presentation and the ongoing group will be very experiential and teach you how to use this simple yet powerful process for your own benefit, and the benefit of all other people in your life. The ongoing group will provide the opportunity to deepen your personal process and practice using the four questions and turnaround with each other. Ongoing " Drop-in " Group: Thursdays, 10 am – noon, beginning January 3 $10 per session. Free " Sampler " evening: Thursday, Jan. 17, 7 – 9 pm. Konstanze Hacker holds a BS in Speech Sciences form University College London. She has been trained in Somatic Experiencing by Dr. Peter Levine and has been practicing Trauma Therapy over the past 9 years. She is in the 3rd year of the MA in Transpersonal Psychotherapy at Naropa University. She has been practicing The WORK since 2006 and has attended " The School for The WORK " , a 9 day intensive process led by Byron Katie, both as a participant and a staff member.
