Then, after the three or four or five osteopathic adjustments, begin

with the Violet Ray (hand machine). This may be done by self. Apply

first the bulb applicator across the lumbar and sacral areas, then

I have a violet ray device. I originally bought an antique unit off

ebay which contained a lot of different attachments. The transformer

was mounted in the case and the wand, which accepted the many tubes,

Neuritis

Neuritis, as commonly understood, is rheumatism of the nerves.

Although any nerve may be involved, the name neuritis is confined

almost entirely to inflammation of the brachial nerves, which run from

the upper part of the spine across the shoulders and down the arms.

When the arms are lifted slightly sharp, twinging, shooting pains are

felt in the arms and shoulders. Temporary relief can be secured by the

use of properly applied heat, but a cure can be affected only by

relieving the inflammation and removing the cause of the pain.

Treatment should be with a very mild current gently applied to the

pain area for about three minutes several times daily. As these nerves

react very quickly, the first few treatments should be mild and short,

but as the nerves become accustomed to it the treatment should be

increased in strength and duration.

Rheumatism- Lumbago

One function of the blood is to dissolve and carry away poisons. When

circulation becomes sluggish or impaired these poisons, instead of

being carried away, are deposited throughout the system, most commonly

at the joints. At first this causes slight annoyance; but continued

deposits results in the joints becoming solid, swollen, and severely

painful This condition is known as Articular Rheumatism and will act

upon the muscles in similar manner, resulting in what is commonly

called Muscular Rheumatism.

Inflammation of the nerve or muscles situated immediately below the

small of the back is known as Lumbago. These pains are most apparent

when the body is inclined forward or sideways or when these muscles

and nerves are brought into use.

Application of the Violet Ray to the affected parts restores

circulation to normal, drives oxygen directly into the blood and

results in a consequent dissolution of the poisonous deposits causing

the ailment, thereby relieving the inflammation. Increased quantities

of nourishment brought by the invigorated circulation build up and

restore the affected part to normal.

Headaches - Insomnia - Brain Fog

A headache is a symptom of some local or constitutional derangement

and not a distinct disease. Few drugs are directly curative and some

are paralyzers of the heart while others destroy the red blood

corpuscles.

When the Violet Ray removes pain it also builds up the forces of

nutrition and general health. One of the most common uses of the

Violet Ray is the removal of headache and in such a way as to leave

the system in a normal and not a " doped " condition. Long, lasting

relief is the rule, but some forms of pain return, and for these

Adequate and refreshing sleep and brain rest is necessary to good

health. Inability to obtain these necessities is a very troublesome

symptom which one should not neglect. There is no substitute for

adequate sleep and rest. The Violet Ray, by its sedative action, tends

to soothe and calm the nervous system and equalize the circulation,

thus restoring this most essential capacity to normal.

Use the throat applicator that will apply directly to the activities

of the glands about the throat, around the neck and down to the upper

portion of the breastbone; or following what is ordinarily termed the

collarbone around same, see? This would be used for five minutes just

before retiring, only on the three days during the rest period from

the Atomidine.

 

During the same time the compound is being taken, we would use the

violet ray as a stimulator for the activative forces from the solar

plexus to the brachial plexus specifically.This is to stimulate these

centers that supply from the nervous system to the organs of

assimilation, that will be activated upon by the properties as

indicated to overcome this tendency for separations in the digestive

area and these conditions that make for disturbance in the body.

 

5. But apply, for this body, the Violet Ray; especially to the base of

brain, around the face and neck, and down at least to the 9th dorsal;

not too strong, but using the bulb applicator. Do this about twice

each week, just before retiring, for three to five minutes. But don't

just hurry through with it - take the time! Use the bulb applicator,

We would begin then once a week to apply that also to the sides of the

head, through the temple, and once a week - on the same period when

it is applied to the temple (always moving towards the cervical area

with the application) - use the double eye applicator of the violet

ray; and we will begin then to have some discharge from the eye

Apply first the bulb applicator across the lumbar and sacral areas,

then across the shoulders and the lower portion of neck and between

shoulders, around the side of the head and the face, for about a

minute and a half. Rest for about five minutes. Then apply the double

eye applicator to the eyes, and then turn on the machine. This would

be used for not more than a minute and a half

the lower portion of the cerebro-spinal system, particularly

in the lower dorsal, lumbar and sacral area. th the

in those areas of the 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th dorsal;

also at

the base or in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd cervical area.

 

After the evening dose we would apply the

plain violet ray over the upper portion of the lung, forward

and backward; that is, over the chest, down to the

sternum or

to the upper portion of stomach; the back from the base of

the brain to the 9th dorsal area, you see; two minutes on

either portion of the body. This will make for the better

clarification of the blood supply and the stronger pulsation

to all portions of the system.

 

Q) Would the violet ray be helpful?

(A) The violet ray will be helpful, provided there are

those

activities that make for sufficient assimilations that are

helpful toward revitalizing the system.

 

You see, the violet ray is only an electrical vibration that

coordinates the vibratory forces of the bodily functioning

itself - which means the circulation as related to the nerve

forces of the body. Then, to revitalize the old blood cells

without new being builded makes for a deterioration quick

with same and becomes detrimental rather than helpful. )

What further osteopathic treatments should body take

 

from Dr. Berger to help his eyes improve?

(A) Added with those of the violet ray, with the double

applicator directly to the eyes, with the drainages set up

for those portions of the circulation through the central

nervous system. We will find also that, with the massage

and the treatments,

occasionally - for the resuscitation of the vitality in the

body - the use of the violet ray will be most beneficial.

This would be applied in those centers from the upper lumbar

to at least the 5th and 6th dorsal. This should be applied

until there is the feeling of the whole internal forces

being

electrified. This would be better than the deep

 

 

6. Keep the low electrical vibrations. These are preferable to

superficial circulation. The plain violet ray, you see.

This will REST the body. This should be given from the back

of the head to the sole of the feet, and this should be

given NOT STRONG - but gentle, to relax the body.er

tension at times to the eye, as well as to the heart's

heart, see, away from the upper circulation, to the end of

the spine; then down to the toes, principally along the back

portion of the limbs, along the sciatic, but particularly

over the lumbar and sacral area. Beginning at the 8th

dorsal, go downward each day for FIFTEEN minutes. Do

not use

the Violet Ray ABOVE the diaphragm area, but DOWNWARD - and

AWAY FROM the body. This may be given each evening at the

time for retirement, see?

 

10. And then destroy same through the high frequency activity of

the violet ray with the vaginal appliance, that may cleanse

the system from disturbing forces, and thus create the

activities throughout the body that may bring a better

coordination and activity for the body-forces themselves. 0.

 

Each evening we would use the violet ray, with the throat

applicator, over the thyroid and the goitre area proper,

very

lightly, for one minute. Also we would use the bulb

applicator of the violet ray from the base of the spine to

the base of the brain, or from the end of the spine to the

base of the brain - going up and down; not in short strokes

but rather LONG strokes - especially on either side of the

spinal column, or following more specifically along the area

of the sympathetic nerve system; go up on one side and down

the other - slow, to be sure, but always the one stroke up

and the one stroke down, see? . We would also use the

violet ray; not the ultra-violet but

the hand violet ray, preferably the hand charge and not the

bulb variety, you see. This we would take about the body

much in the same way as the Radio-Active Appliance would be

attached; that is, one day it would be taken through the

right hand and the next day through the left hand; the next

day through the right foot and the next day through the left

foot, and so circulate about the body. For these vibrations

will make for charges in the system that will so stimulate

the activities of that released by the raising of the

subluxations in the areas indicated as to make for the

proper

balance throughout the system. It is well that these be

taken until there is felt and breathed in much of the ozone

created by such an activity; hence would be taken from

twelve

to fifteen minutes each day. Whether this treatment is

given

in the afternoon or evening does not matter. If it

makes for

a continuation of the treatment with the Radio-Active

Appliance, it does not matter; for they are as a combination

one with the other. We would first begin with the

applications of a low form of

electrical vibration that may be had through the use of the

plain violet ray. Not the deep therapy, but the hand violet

ray machine - which will act upon the superficial

circulatory

forces of the body - applied along the cerebrospinal system.

This will relax the body and stimulate the ganglia along the

whole cerebrospinal system. Use the plain bulb applicator

each day, preferably as the body is ready for

retirement, for

a least five minutes. Move the bulb applicator rather in a

circular motion from the center of the spine toward both

extremities; that is, begin in the center and move upward -

then begin in the center and move downward - but in a

circular motion on each side of the spine from the brachial

center, and also from the lumbar center. After the

Tonicine has been taken for a week, and at least

two adjustments, we would begin then (not before) with the

use of the Violet Ray (hand machine); but we would use

this a

little bit differently from the manner ordinarily used. Do

not use the bulb applicator, but rather the ROD applicator;

and use it first with the right hand, the next day with the

left foot - but lay the anode or applicator upon glass, then

place the foot upon same. The next day use the

applicator in

the left hand, then the next day the right foot placed upon

same - after it is laid on the glass; and so on about the

body. Do this each day for at least ten days. Then leave

this off until the second series of the osteopathic

treatments, then take again. Do not take this longer than

two minutes in the first series, or longer than three

minutes

in the second series, see(Q) Violet Ray?

(A) This occasionally, not too often - especially if there

is the using of the abilities of the body in meditation.

This we would put farther and farther off, as the body

raises

the vibrations of itself. The Violet Ray interferes

with the

ability of this, in the mental-spiritual aspect. Physically

it sets the body in attune. So, this will depend upon

whether the body is to rely upon the mechanical or the

spiritual forces to enliven the body, as to its particular

use. Once in six weeks, once in two months would be

sufficient - after the body finds itself able to control

itself through these periods of meditation and direction of

the energies so raised. If this causes anxiety in the body,

leave it off and have a little more of the Violet Ray.

e Violet Ray

over the whole cerebrospinal nerve system. That is, as the

body is adjusted and treated, osteopathically, the next

day, or two days, each day lie prone on face and apply

the vibrations from the Violet Ray direct to the cerebro-

spinal system, beginning at the upper cervicals and

following

out each center and its branches along the spine. As is

seen, head and neck - then the arms and shoulders - then

the whole torso, and along the whole length of each sciatic

nerve, and especially along the channel, or route, as it

were, of each branch of the sympathetic nerve system,

treating the body in such a manner for twenty-five to

thirty-five minutes at least four times each week.

 

(Q) Have the violet ray treatments been effective in

reducing the conditions in the neck? [GD's note: With

using

violet ray regularly, the glandular swelling was reduced and

goitre did NOT develop.]

(A) Been effective in part. Needs more of the manipulation

to adjust the conditions, so that the vibrations from violet

 

 

 

 

 

ray would be more effective. We would keep the violet ray

for the body. The

hand machine violet ray should be sufficient. Apply the

bulb

applicator of this principally to the 9th dorsal, 3rd

cervical, and the base of the brain. Not too long a period,

just sufficient to disassociate the flexes as would

nominally come as there is the regaining of the NORMAL

reactions of the body.

not before, for - with the poisons in the system - this

would

be more detrimental than beneficial. When begun, apply the

Violet Ray especially across the shoulders, down the arms,

even to the palms of the hands, soles of the feet, and

up the sciatic centers of the limbs. Use the hand machine Violet

Ray, bulb applicator, and let this treatment be given

for ten

to fifteen minutes each week following the hydrotherapy.

Very

high voltage, no amperage. This should be given over and

about the portions and parts affected, especially those to

the knees. If we will do as we have given, we would find

relief for this body.

 

Applying with same those

of the Violet Ray, or any ultra Violet Ray, to the scalpular

itself, so that the scalp would receive re-invigoration as

well as the facial and neck and throat centers. With the

relief of this pressure we will find that the circulation

will become more equalized, the condition will be reduced

in the hypogastric and pneumogastric centers, there will be

better digestion, better elimination, and the stopping

of the

falling of the hair, and the recuperating of the growth of

hair on the head, and a better condition for the face, eyes,

ears, nose, and all the organs of the sensory system

becoming

more acute and more sensitive and reactive to the forces of

These have been indicated as necessary

influences in the experience of this body, as an

voltage, stimulating all centers that are as the crossroads,

the connections between the various portions of the

physical-body functioning, the mental attitudes and

area and down to the caecum area. Do this immediately after

11. As to the violet ray application, - there has been indicated

a specific time. This has been overstepped at times, with

the idea that if a little would do good more would do more

good; while at times more does harm rather than good! It is

as an overtaxation even to a strong muscular force may

weaken, may even deter the best activity. Do not

overstrain,

but keep the violet ray - and not more than the minute and a

half. Two to three minutes is worse than none being given!

 

19. Also begin about the same time and use, not more than once a

week, the Violet Ray (Hand Machine) Vaginal Applicator,

NOT close to the menstrual periods, for this would produce

greater irritation. DO NOT use it BEFORE the

osteopathic adjustments are made, but AFTERWARD - the next

.. (Q) Does the body have goitre?

(A) It is the condition we are giving here for the Violet

Ray, in the thyroid region. This is [not an] enlarged gland

as yet, but may turn into such if the system is allowed to

secrete those particles that will draw and settle in this

portion of the body.

 

.. We will find, too, that the use of the eye appliance from the

violet ray will aid the vision, relieve the headache,

and the

strain on the nerve system - especially in the head. Ready

for questions.

 

5. At least twice each week, of MORNINGS, we would apply over

the same area - for three to five minutes - those vibrations

from the plain violet ray. This should be before the body

is aroused, or arises from the evening or night's rest -

see?

Then rest from five to fifteen minutes AFTER this has been

applied (that is, the violet ray). Put the anode directly

to the skin. This should be massaged, or applied, from the

solar plexus center down, then from the solar plexus center

up; each side of the cerebro-spinal system, and especially

following OUT same from the brachial center to arms, and

from

the lumbar center to the lower portion of the limbs. Let

this be done on the UNDER side of arm, the UNDER side of the

lower limbs or legs, FOLLOWING closely those nerves that go

directly from the brachial nerves to the elbow, wrist and

fingers; those along the sciatic, or ACCOMPANYING nerve

along the lower limbs, to the knees, to the feet.

(A) The better treatment for the scalp would be the violet

ray, using the comb applicator that will stimulate the scalp

itself. But unless these corrections are made, the

circulation to the scalp will not be proper, see

(A) Hasn't had time yet! There ARE those indications,

as is

felt by those conditions in those portions of system, where

the digestive forces are active, and their activity to the

lung area, through which, into which the blood supply from

same comes. These show that there are more SENSITIVENESS,

and only need that continuation - as does sore MUSCLES from

exercise need the continuation, rather than the bandaging or

stoppage of those incentives for their proper activity.

These may be aided by the thorough relaxation by low

electrical vibrations over the system at times, in and about

those centers from which each of these specific places

receive their nerve impulse - see? This should be with the

Five to six minutes after the evening dose has been taken, we

would apply the hand violet ray for two to five minutes; not

centralization of the releasing of the oxygen for the blood

correctly - not abused, and those vibrations of the violet

ray used once each day over the solar plexus, brachial

center, over the whole of the fifth nerve centers in face,

head and neck, to the limbs through those locomotory centers

to the bottom of the feet, these will aid in bringing

normalcy in the lymph reaction that is hindered in the

facial

activity through the fifth nerve centers. 26. (Q) What

can be done to relieve the growth on the chest?

(A) If there will be the application of the electrically

driven vibrator in those portions of the area along the

cerebrospinal system, and the violet ray applied over the

and 4th dorsal, the upper cervical; and the eye

applicator to

the eyes themselves, using the double applicator, for half a

minute or a minute every other day, would strengthen these

conditions. Also the rubs as indicated for the nerve

conditions in the body.

 

0. (Q) An experimental model of an electric, high-frequency

exterminator for treating infested food products against

worms, and insects, is now being operated at 461 Fourth Ave.

(4th floor), N.Y.C., in the laboratory of Allen A. Canton

and Alfred G. Kay. This device uses modulated, high-voltage

vibrations which act with great speed to exterminate

insects.

It would have wide usefulness in the food industry. Is

it possible to perfect this invention to acceptable and

commercial usefulness in the near future?

(A) This as we find is possible. And it would be one

wherein there would be little of the real food value

disturbed by the very activity necessary. In fact, MANY

of those would be benefitted by the use of same in the

exterminating of insect or conditions which disturb fruits

and vegetables. This as we find only needs to be used in

such a way and manner that it may be the ultra-violet

and not

merely the violet ray; or so that the ultra-violet with ITS

high-frequency passes through same, see?

 

0. Also we find that the use of not too high a voltage of the

Violet Ray, with the Neck Applicator, will retard or

eliminate the tendency for the engorgement in the thyroid

area - or reduce or eliminate the inclination for goitre.

 

(Q) Is my throat responding to the violet ray treatments?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

(A) Fairly well, but there needs to be the better drainages

set up for the general system, and we should have then a

better response.

 

EC: We have the body here, [1739] - this we have had before.

Bettered conditions physical, and the resting of the nerve

system, and the constant reactions as are taking place will

do most for this body's FULL recuperation. There needs

to be

some superficial stimulation to the emunctories and

lymphatics. These, as we find, would be very effective by -

just when ready to retire - giving a stimulation with the

plain violet ray, over the whole of the system, see?

ESPECIALLY in those centers, or those portions where the

stimulation to the emunctories and lymphatic centers

EXTERNALLY would be most EASILY gained access. Following

IMMEDIATELY with those vibrations from the electrically

driven vibrator, but use the sponge applicator on same - and

let THIS be along those centers of the cervical, upper

dorsal, and THEN from the radial plexus of the lower

locomotories. These, given for five to ten minutes, will

rest and ease the body.

 

1. Also each evening when ready to retire, we would use the

violet ray (hand machine, bulb applicator), very lightly,

for about a minute and a half, along the spine and

especially

across the lumbar and sacral, and on the shoulders and arms

and neck - as a stimulation on these areas, and along the

limbs.

 

12. This done, with the colonics, will tend to relieve

tendencies

towards sciatica, rheumatism and neuritis - which are the

tendencies that naturally arise in this short circuiting

of the nerve forces and energies, and the slowed

circulation,

and quickness of the pulse in some portions and the slowing

in other parts of the body.

 

15. (Q) What should the body do to relieve the itching of the

rectum, and bring to the normal again?

(A) Using those conditions as we have given for the body.

Increasing the circulation in the emunctories and lymphatics

gives sufficient secretions to each gland of the system,

when

the incentive in vibration through violet ray is applied, to

relieve the strain on system.

 

(Q) What else can be done to calm down nervous tension?

(A) As indicated, just the general massage, gently

given but

soothingly given. We find that the violet ray (hand

machine,

nerves for the body so it could rest of evening. Apply this

along the spine in a gentle manner, face and neck and head;

not more than a minute, however.

.. The violet ray, we find, has not been given properly at all

times. Not as much of the vibration, neither has the

applicator been projected sufficiently far in the vagina to

reach those portions of the system that should receive the

vibration, for the womb and tubes must be rejuvenated by

this

7. The dose would be half a teaspoonful (preferable in water)

three times each day, and when the medicinal properties are

being given each evening, give the vibrations from the

violet

ray over the portions of system, especially where hair is

needed, or wanted to be grown on the body, and along the

whole length of the spinal system, or along the spinal

column

and at the umbilicus. Take the vibrations over the whole

system for three to five minutes each evening. Do this.

We will bring the body to its normal forces.

 

This may

be given in the form of the Violet Ray. Preferably apply

this to lymphatic centers, as would be arm pits, elbows,

knees, and groins. This will effectually assist in the
