Guest guest
I dont' know where you're located, but I do know that in areas where 'natural' or alternative medicine is socially accepted (I had my child in Boulder County, Colorado) I actually had the option of hiring a doula for my birth through the hospital. Having a baby this generation, is far different than it was 10 years ago. I know if couples that have actually delivered their own children, while the doctor stepped aside and observed, ready in case she/he was needed. I also know of fathers given the opportunity to bathe their child fresh from the womb. I work in a hospital and am actually training to be a doula. I'm not located in the maternity ward with my day job, but I can assure you that doctors (I've actually asked) will honor your specific birth plan unless something goes wrong and you or your baby are in severe life-threatening danger. In this day and age, almost anything goes. What you need to do is meet with your doctor or doula, discuss your concerns, and talk about it. If you aren't feeling that your provider is listening to you or willing to honor your requests, find someone that will. Because trust me, they are out there. Personally, I preferred having my baby in the hospital, because if something were to have happened that would have prevented that little life from entering this world, I would never have forgiven myself. But, again, that's just my own opinion.. I wish you the happiest, healthiest, and most wonderful pregnancy to you. Congrats on creating a bundle of joy. -- In , " lendytaylor10 " <lendytaylor10@ ...> wrote: > > In what situations can doctors/ medical staff force medical procedures > on patients?
