Guest guest
I am looking for herbs that will be calming to my boys. They both need just a little help focusing during school. We homeschool, so it isn't as much of a problem as it could be, but I would like to help them get optimal learning time. Any information would be wonderful. Thanks, Becky

What type of TV do they watch and video games do they play? You gave little information so I am asking a few broad questions here. Diet is very important... I only add about the TV & games because some of these can have a negative affect on children. I am NOT saying your doing something wrong here!! Just trying to help you look at the big picture. Maybe your children are great in these areas...if so then again how about their diet & supplemnets/herbs? God Bless, Jamie in Az
Guest guest
Someone had shared this with me before and i tried it with my grandson: little sachet pillows. Lavender and Chamomile work great. I put a couple of spoonfuls of loose lavender and a spoonful of chamomile in a small muslin pouch, then tied off nice and secure. (*note: a muslin pouch works nice because you can refil it periodically, versus sewing up a new one). I gave this to the grandson and told him that when he feels antsy irritable to crush the pouch and sniff, it works great. In fact last weekend we went to a little Earth Day fest at our local co-op and there was someone there selling Lavender sachets and he reminded me about the one i made him and asked for a new on. Guest guest
Dear Becky, I taught kids from ages 6-18 for 5 years in a private school. There is a Tea called Cal Calm tea. there is a drink (supplement) called Cal-Mag. Both of these will chill your boys out. I do want to say something that most people miss with their kids. If you've ever been in a conversation where someone was talking and using such big words that you just couldn't stand it anymore? Well this is probably happening to your kids in the school. You have to get them to tell you what they couldn't understand in school and help them sort it out. Next: However much time they spend in school you should have them spend in an ORGANIZED activity out of school or at least in the yard outside. Organized is important. Get them on some local soccer, baseball, football, bowling, theatre group or something of the sort. Sugars: There is so much Junk in our food today that we are being poisoned everyday unless taught to really carefully manage our diets. This is what we're doing here on this list, learning how to manage in today's society without getting too poisoned to live our lives. Have you been to the school cafeteria's recently. Ughhhhh.... you'd puke. So full of chemicals and preservatives, sugars, refined white flour etc. Pure sh**. Anyway, that's what I have to say. A few drops of Valerian root would not be a bad idea but test the amount out before you send them to school because it can put them to sleep. Imagine them falling asleep in school? And it would be my fault! Oh gosh! And I agree with Zeb that cutting out sugars is a wonderful idea. They will thank you in their later years. Sugar is sucha damaging chemical.
