Thanks, Doc :) I guess I am going to have to get off digest as I just don't see the messages soon enough and feel like I am missing out most of the time as it is old news by the time I read them.

To the person posting about the taste of goat milk..... I can only say that Nubian milk is super fabulous.....Yummy! I don't go overboard in drinking large quantities of it but when we want it, it is there. I am also grateful to have organic chicken eggs and live where I live where I can raise livestock and grow my herbs and fruit trees.

If goats are taken care of properly, there should almost never be mastitis. In the hundred of animals that we have raised, I have only seen mastitis a couple times (when we had geese living with them). If mastitis is frequently seen then there is something wrong and it is probably herd management. Cleanliness is very important. There is a test for mastitis called CMT and I use it often to check the well being of our animals. I think a lot of problems with milk whether it be goat or cow is the use of medications, vaccinations, antibiotics, and pastures heavily sprayed with chemicals. If you can get back to the way the way nature planned for them to be used, you will have a product that is safe and healthy. My animals get Garlic/ACV tinctures when ill, herbal wormers and even Lemon Egg when they have milk fever and they are thriving.

It is a real heartbreak to see my children put their babies on soy formula. My three month old granddaughte is currently on one of these formulas and try as I may to convince my daughter it is not good for her...she will not listen. She now has hip displasia so I have given her BF & C ointment to massage in. She goes back to the pediatrician next week to see if there is an improvement.....if not they want to schedule her for surgery.......and so it begins.

Best Wishes,

Hello,

I haven't been posting due to busy schedule, but have been reading most of the post. When I read this, I most certainly agree. I have two kids on soy milk and I'm not completely thrilled of the idea. My son just turn 1 and recently got onto soy. He was previously on barley formula. He doesn't really like soy, but my daughter is a milk drinker and she constantly needs her soy. I was advise to get them both off and get them onto Cal-Mac for calcium. I'm gonna start giving them Cal-Mac but I really want to find another product that's milk, but good for them.

Nubian Milk, what is that? Can the kids drink it safely? We have goats milk in our grocery and local health food, but their prices are outragious for very little. And I don't know how good they are. Iwould like to switch soon but am running out of ideas. I know soy is not good, and am still giving them that, cause I can't find anything else, but I'm starting to feel very guilty about continueing to allow them to drink this. Can someone please help me?

Thank you,

An-Marie

Nubian goats have the richest and best tasting of all the dairy goat milk. It

is easily digestable and wonderful if you can find a healthy herd who is

treating their animals with herbs rather than drugs. One drawback to feeding

goat milk to infants is that you have to supplement Folic acid as goat milk does

not meet human requirements.

Thanks,

I found a local goat farmer in my area. She has Nubian herds and are organic and raw milk that she sells. So, I'm gonna start getting milk from her. Thank you for the good information. An-Marierpadams1 wrote:
