I had tried several times to reply to you and this address keeps bouncing

back, so I will try once again.

Dear Barb,

The purpose behind juicing is to make the most nutrient value available.

Whether it is fruit or vegetables, you still only get 20 or so percent by

chewing. Juicing releases roughly 60% in the juice. Add in the pulp and

you get between 90-95% of all available nutrients. I don't do very much in

fruit simply because of the sugar load regardless of whether I just eat it

or juice it first.

When I first started, I had no idea I would continue, let alone actually

believe it would make a difference. I refused to spend money on something

that in all likelihood would not be used beyond a week or so, so I went

cheap and dirty with a Jack LaLanne juicer. Surprisingly, it does a pretty

good job and I only put $80 into it with a 20% off coupon from Bed, Bath,

and Beyond.

If you do something such as the Breuss Juice fast, you will want a juicer

rather than a juicing blender as the juice only is taken for 42 days.

Re: Juicing

Hi Bruce,

I went to your website. Thanks for the link. I have ovarian cancer so I

can benefit from the info there, and I read the info on juicing you had

there. You mentioned twin-gear models and that is what the Greenstar is. I

want to do mainly leafy vegetables. I'd rather just eat fruit whole than

have it juiced. I like the idea of a juicing blender. I might look up info

on that.

What kind of juicer do you use? Thanks, barb b from Cinci, OH USA

Re: Juicer Question -Jim

How does the Champion juice? Does it use twin gear, or cut or

masticate? I won't be doing fruit. I prefer to eat fruit as it is.

I what to juice green leafy vegetables mainly. I have something that

can do carrots already if I want to add carrots.
