Guest guest
Hi there, I am new to the group and have a few questions. If anyone can be of any help either with suggestions, comments, or links, it would be greatly appreciated! I am an active 26 year old female. This year I am noticing a huge decline in my health and I am wondering what the problem is. The most noticeable symptoms are depression and anxiety, which I have been experiencing for the past 6 months. During this time I have also found I have an endlessly stuffy nose, extreme sugar cravings, and much bloating/gas after most meals. Does this combination of symptoms suggest any one particular problem? Or should I address each one seperately?? I'm so frustrated. I just want to feel 'normal'. Thank you for your time. Guest guest
I would suggest by starting with diet, exercise, and sleep. Cut out sugar, white flour, empty carbs. Cut out margarine, caffeine, over the counter medications. If taking porescription drugs, look for alternatives. Get at least 8 hours of sleep each night. This may not cure your ills, but it is a good place to start. Alobar On 1/17/06, Chelsea <cozmic_grrl wrote: > Hi there, > > I am new to the group and have a few questions. Guest guest
It sounds suspiciously like a candida overgrowth problem to me with the sugar cravings. Any number of things can cause an overgrowth. There are many things at the health food store that kill this fungal overgrowth to some extent, everything from homeopathic preparations to teas, etc. My experience has been that once you have an overgrowth you never entirely rid yourself of it, and you must do a diet change as well, excluding fruit, mushrooms, sugar, including honey. You really really have to read labels of any prepared foods you buy to find hidden sugars. Any use of antibiotics can cause this overgrowth, steroids, and many other things. Candida does cause depression and anxiety and the symptoms it causes are far reaching. Check out links and you will find tons of information about candida (usually the specific type is albicans), but there are many many other candidas as well. They are all treated in the same way from a holistic point of view. You may have to do the diet change, take probiotics, and other over the counter natural food store preparations for a long time before you see improvement, but don't expect an allopathic doctor to treat you for this. They will ask you if you have a vaginal yeast infection if you say anything about candida to him/her and that will be the end of it from them. They know little to nothing about this subject in my experience. There are so many good books on the subject. Either go to the bookstore or check out links for basic info. Guest guest
Do you use anything containing aspartame (nutra-sweet), or msg??? Both these things can cause a multitude of similar symptoms. Guest guest
I didn't think of this right away. Have you had a liver work up done, recently? Fatigue, depression, cold like symptoms... I'd get a liver panel! , " mk2967 " <mk2967> wrote: > > Do you use anything containing aspartame (nutra-sweet), or msg??? > Both these things can cause a multitude of similar symptoms. > > " Chelsea " <cozmic_grrl@> > Tue Jan 17, 2006 10:36 am > Recurring Symptoms > > > Hi there, > > I am new to the group and have a few questions.
