Guest guest
I have a gum infection and the Doc put me on an antibotic. Well I could not take it and he put me on another. Well after taking all of it I still have the infection, but not as bad. I figure he will want to put me on another. Is there an alternative? Guest guest
I Am 60. I hve terrible teeth because I ate lots of sugar when younger. So I am prone to gum infections. I treat my own gun infections without antibiotics. Cut out all sugar, including sweet fruits. Take vitamin C to bowel tolerance. Use a high quality non-alcoholic mouthwash, which does not contain aspartame (I use Biotene). Buy some Teatree oil. Add a small amount of teatree oil to a 3/4 of a capful of mouthwash, then put this in your mouth. Squish it around, then use a soft toothbrush to brush your gums. Teatreee oil will numb the gums a bit so it does not hurt as much to brush the sore gums. Use a waterpic to work on the sore areas as well. Take grapefruitseed 20-30 drops of extract 4 times a day. Take Echinacea/Goldenseal capsules 3 times a day. Treating a gum infection with no antibiotics takes longer than with antibiotics when dealing with a problem which clears up very quickly with antibiotics. When dealing with something which is not clearing up with antibiotics, it may not take as long. You might also look into cadida overgrowth. Gum infection could be a an idication of a candida problem. Guest guest
What has worked for me, and friends is: rinse with a solution of hydrogen peroxide, salt, and water three times a day for a couple of days; take lots of Ecchinaccea. Usually the infection will disappear within 2-3 days. When done together these have saved me from the dentist for many years- and I still have all my teeth. Guest guest
Michael Could you please specify some quantities and how strong was the Hydrogen Peroxide? Guest guest
I mixed about 3 ounces of water with about 3 ounces of Hydrogen Peroxide (3-5%), and about 3-5 teaspoons of salt. An old pharmacist had told me of this when I had once scraped the inside of my lower gums severely and they were infected. He said he could sell me something, but that the best thing was this. I tried it for three days, and was so grateful that the pain and all were gone that I still tell people of that. But myself and other friends have used this many times quite successfully. I don’t swallow it of course. But if a tiny bit gets swallowed, no big deal. Just rinse and drink a glass of water afterward. I believe one reason I have had few dental problems was the practice of using this to brush my teeth as well, once in a while... Guest guest
I would take Michael's advice but if you have some oregano oil you could try it too. It helped my tooth infection. I did have to take anti-biotics for the first time in 20 years in order to save my tooth and I still get the occasional pus coming from it(on the gum underneath it). When that happens I put the oregano oil on it and it is gone the next day. I will also try the hydrogen peroxide mixture for a while and see it it doesn't keep it totally away.
