Guest guest
Hi,I am new and still reading. I have tried some things such as St. John's wort and 5htp, sorry I might have spelled that wrong. I could not take that or some other things such as SAM-E. I am trying to find something natural to take to help me. I think the meds. are toxic. The ones I have tried are. They made me worse or gave me awful side effects, did not work. And I am not trying any more. Appreciate anyones help. Or if you have something that helped you, could you please post it? Thank you. Guest guest
Kefir will help your body to manufacture tryptophan and serotonin. I've also found that extra vitamin D (up to about 4 times a day), lots of niacin (I MEAN LOTS...5 or so grams a day) and magnesium have helped. There is a yaho group called Kefir_Making that has tons of good reading, and members offer grains for your use. The crap you can buy at the store is no good. It's easy *EASY* to make. , " Connie " <lynn_connie wrote: > > Hi,I am new and still reading. I have tried some things such as St. > John's wort and 5htp, sorry I might have spelled that wrong. Guest guest
Niacinamide is far easier on the gtummy than niacin in large doses. I take a gram a a time, 6 or 7 times a day to aid blood sugar control. Alobar On 2/20/06, mk2967 <mk2967 wrote: > Kefir will help your body to manufacture tryptophan and serotonin. Guest guest
You know...there is more to this. DO you know the basis of your depression? Have you recently lost a good friend or loved one? If so, grief therapy may help. Is it just the blues? Spring fever? Get out and get some sunshine. That is if you don't live in the land of eternal winter, as I do. Listen to some music. Make your own music. Turn off your television. It would certainly cause me to be depressed! Exercise. Take the dog for a walk, instead of just putting her out in the back yard. Scrub the floor. DO stuff. Then again, if you're really sinking into a serious depressoin, you will need to make sure you do positive things, like take some extra supplements. But good solid nutrition is so vital to overall health. Throw away the things in your kitchen that are in boxes. Food additives are terrible. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables. Cook from scratch. If you work, can you walk or bicycle to work? Note to Alobar... Regular old hot flush niacin has not bothered me. I don't know that niacinamide has the same overall efect. *THEY* say it's just as good. I dunno. , Alobar <Alobar wrote: > > Niacinamide is far easier on the gtummy than niacin in large doses. > I take a gram a a time, 6 or 7 times a day to aid blood sugar > control. > > Alobar > > On 2/20/06, mk2967 <mk2967 wrote: > > Kefir will help your body to manufacture tryptophan and serotonin.
