Guest guest
Hello everyone, I'm making a personal report about something that's been helping me, in the event someone else might find something of value in it. About six months or so ago someone suggested I try taking l-glutamine to help heal multiple health problems probably associated (in my case) with casein (dairy protein - NOT lactose) allergy. I gave it a try at the standard 5 grams a day. Within a few weeks, I had less fatigue, and after a month or two, I had even less fatigue - in fact, I was able to do house chores and such most days of the week, where before most days I had such overriding fatigue that I could get to work and back, and no more. At this time, I seem to have " leveled off " in fatigue benefits I'm getting - I am now able to do brief, beginner exercise routines several times a week (before I could do none without severe exhaustion for days afterward), and able to do about half the house and other chores I'd like to do (again, before, I could do none). Another benefit I've started getting the last month or so is a steep fall in carb cravings. Not only is it easier to go with the healthy stuff instead of the " quick energy " garbage, but I'm also eating less overall and being satisfied with it. Whether this is some healing in my blood sugar response (I do NOT have diabetes), or in my gut permeability, or in something else, I don't know. I'm just reporting what's happening. I've also noticed that I'm getting stronger, physically - no doubt due to the glutamine + exercise. The benefits and issues I seem to be about all seem related to " leaky gut syndrome " or something similar. I do not believe that " leaky gut " is my primary problem, but I do believe other health issues, poor self-care over the years, and undiagnosed food allergies, have left me with " leaky gut " (which has just caused even more problems). Overall, I'm guessing I'm about 50% better now than I was before glutamine. So, no complete cure, but enough to get up and going again! I'll take that! I am now taking about 7 grams of glutamine a day now. I take it as a pure powder - it has no flavor in itself and mixes easily with water or whatever. I've gotten a good quality powder for about $20 for a 80 day supply. I've ordered over the internet, but you can also buy in many health food stores and such, too. Here is a link with more info about " leaky gut " , for those interested in what it is and what at least one medical person believes is how to treat it: http://www.healthy.net/scr/article.asp?ID=425 & action=print Good luck!
