Guest guest
I've recently been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, and i'm very dis- satisfied with the medications the doctor has prescribed for me. At this point in time, i'm supposed to be taking oxycodone (5 mg./3 times a day), Flexeril (10 mg./ 3 times a day), Rozeram (a sleeping pill), and Lidocaine patches. I'm very sensitive to medications, and i'm having adverse reactions to the Oxycodone - bloating, constipation. I've been experimenting with some things I purchased from the health food store - powdered barley, Fibro-Response, Royal Jelly, and B vitamins. I'm wondering if anyone else suffers from FMS and can recommend some things that have worked for them ? I've changed my diet a great deal. I'm eating lots of vegetables, whole grains, fish, and very little red meat. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so very much ! Guest guest
I was diagnosed a little over a year ago. I have made a few friends since then with fibro as well. First, don't let your family doctor try to prescribe your meds. I have found that they do not know what they are talking about. Find a rheumatologist. Fibromyalgia is in the family of autoimmune disorders and rheumatologists specialize in this. You should also have the blood tests for rheumatoid arthritis and lupus since they are sometimes comorbid with fibro. Second, come to terms with the idea that everyone with fibromyalgia experiences it differently. There is a lot of research out there on the causes but no one has an answer yet. Research suggests that it could be cause from all of the following: genetic factors, overload of toxins in your body, a dysfunction in the hypothalamus, an imbalance of lactose acid (don't know much about this one, my Physical therapist mentioned it), and dietary issues. The only thing that everyone seems to agree on is that a treatment regimine that includes meds, exercise, supplements and sleep helps. However, the specific combinations vary for everyone. I would love to give you more information, but I am at work and my lunch will be over soon. I would tell you to call me, but I just switched to internet phone and I have some crazy temporary phone number until they switch me back to my old one. Email me privately with your phone number, and I will pull my information together and give you a call this weekend. Guest guest
Hi I'm new here. I just looked up and found that fibromyalgia is the same thing that my chiropractors have called " trigger points " . I get rid of these within 10-30 minutes by eating nutritional yeast, say 1-3 tablespoons, often less. I think it is the vitamin B1 deficiency that causes the condition. But if not, it is some one or more of the B complex vitamins. , Amanda Down <luvmypittbulls wrote: > > I was diagnosed a little over a year ago.
