The U.S. is trying to force their GE foods on the rest of the world however, to my knowledge they haven't had any luck in many parts of Europe. I haven't kept up with it just recently, but in the past you would find no growth hormones rBGH in either their meats or their milk. You will find this true of a host of other European countries as well. Many European countries like Denmark have banned hydrogenated oils altogether. These are just a few of the changes they have made and i know there are others as well. I have corresponded with some women in the UK during the past year and their impression of our GE policies is amazing compared to the way americans view the situation as so benign and harmless. The situation is considerably better than our setup. Ethics plays a large part in the whole scheme of things and that is an area where our system just doesn't measure up. We need to take a firm grip on the situation and soon or it will get out of hand. More people are afflicted with intestinal problems than ever before. No need to ask why, when GE corn and soy are in virtually every processed food known to man ( in the U.S. that is!). JoAnn
