The symptoms of depression can be of various types including

feelings of overpowering sadness, a sharp decline in

concentration and delight in routine activities, varying

appetite and noticeable weight loss or gain , lack of sleep,

fall in self esteem, and sometimes feelings of guilt,

hopelessness, helplessness, anxiety, or fear.

 

The treatment of depression seems to be more effective if it

is done through natural herbal remedies because herbs and

herbal remedies dont leave any side effect on your physical

and mental health.

 

Herbs to Treat Depression

There are several herbs those prove to be beneficial in

treating depression. Few herbs are listed below those are

Herbal Remedies Effective To Treat Depression

 

 

Frequently it is seen that a combination of different kinds

of herbs appear to be more effective for the treatment of

depression.

 

The remedies or herbal tonics are usually prepared with

particular consideration by neutralizing the normal side

effects that can be caused by one. Moreover the specific

situation of the particular individual is also taken care of

while preparing the herbal tonic.

 

We have discussed some of the preparations of the herbal

tonics which you can go for but for better results you are

always suggested to consult a doctor before beginning any

herbal therapy. You also need to check with your doctor

whether you are taking any prescribed medication that can

interact with the herbal remedies.

 

-Chop gentian root and poplar bark finely, take ½ ounce of

each and steep them in water for 15 minutes. Then boil it

and add ½ ounce each of centaury and agrimony. Again boil it

for 10 minutes, allow it to be cool and then strain. You can

also add some honey to it as a sweetener. Take 3 tablespoons

before meals.

-Add 1 teaspoon of rosemary and sage in two cups of water,

boil it for five minutes and strain. You need to drink it

daily.

-Mix 1 teaspoon of the leaf of Saint-John's-wort with ½

teaspoon tinctures of ginseng root, licorice root and lemon

balm leaf. Take the 1 dropperful of the herbal tonic thrice

a day

-To handle mild depression you can crush cloves and add that

to sage, peppermint or chamomile tea along with ginseng

powder.

-You can also make a blend of St. John's-wort. Take 2 parts

St. John's-wort ,1 part oat straw,1 part lavender and 1 part

mugwort leaf and make a tincture of these ingredients. You

can take this tincture thrice a day.

 

-Take equal parts of lemon balm, kava, St. John's wort and

valerian root. Mix 1 cup boiled water with 1 teaspoon of

this herb mix. Take 1 cup of this mixture thrice a day 1hour

after your meal.
