Guest guest
while we are on this subject, what about cats. There is a stray that comes on my porch from time to time, and will not let me touch it. But it's mange is getting bad. I read that flea medication should work, but anything else. Last night the cat came here, was so hungry, i bet I could have gotten the flea medication on him. My mom gave me one she had so next time i see the cat i'm going to try to get this one him while he is eating. I hope it just doesn't burn to much, w/no fur Vickie ISS/VAS cancer that kills cats!www.vas-awareness.org No shots in the SCRUFFwww.catshots.com In memory of Angel ONYX 12/27/02, Smudge 5/01/04 Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. It's highly contagious to humans and other animals. What is the name of the flea med? There are only a few that work for sarcoptic mange. Revolution is one of them. Guest guest
Vickie - You could try pulling apart a capsule of black walnut (you can find this at most health food stores) and mixing thoroughly in a 5.5 oz can of wet food for at least a week and see if the scabies clears up. Black walnut will quickly cure ringworm and I think it's worth a try for the scabies. Most cats will readily eat the BW powder mixed in canned food. Good luck. Guest guest
It may also be ringworm if the skinless area are circular and look red or irritated. Program oral flea medication will cure this. I had a cat who had it and the Program worked. Ringworm is contagious but you mix the Program in the food so you do not have to touch the cat. I have a link below so you can check out the dosage of Program for ringworm. I would go online and do a search for pictures of feline mange and ringworm so you can compare the difference. You can also purchase Program from Canadian pharmacies through mail order without a prescription. PetOptions.com is one of the pharmacies I have used in the past and their prices are reasonable. Canada does not require a veterinary prescription for Program. http://www.showcatsonline.com/x/ringworm_battle_plan.htm Richard Fear is a natural reaction to moving closer to the truth. ---Pema Chödrön
Guest guest
diacrematious earth (unsure of spelling) also known as dinosaur dust is safe for animals, but bugs hate it and it kills them. It is made from chrysanthanums. Put it in the kittie's food Gayle
Guest guest
Diatomaceous earth is a chalk like sedimentary rock. It is used in pest control but being mostly silica it is not recommended to work with it without a mask and I do not think it is advisable to feed it to animals though it can be used in kitty litter. I suggest you Google it before using it. Suzie Checked by AVG.
