Guest guest
hi i would like to know what i can do for my digestion. i take digestive enzymes but i would like to get off of them. if i dont take them i find every thing i eat seems to stay on my chest, like i need to belch all the time & the lower part of my stomach hurts.if i take enzymes i am fine. i eat pretty good, not all raw veggies but some. some cooked veggies like sweet potatoes, no processed foods or sweets. very little meats. maybe a liter of water per day. but i noticed if i have very little water per day, only a glass or two i dont feel too bad. years ago i used to drink allot on weekends but only have 4-5 beer nowadays, (maybe the drinking has screwed my digestion) anyway i would like some suggestions, there must be a way to fix this. thanks lar
Guest guest
Lar, I know you say you would like to get off the digestive enzymes, however, I would suggest try using probiotics. I was having major digestive problems and had been taking digestive enzymes, worked for a little while. I started taking the probiotics and things have improved dramatically. & nbsp; Jenny Immature love is loving someone because you need them, mature love is needing someone because you love them! --- On Fri, 6/6/08, lawrence & lt;marcelhy & gt; wrote: lawrence & lt;marcelhy & gt; digestion problems Friday, June 6, 2008, 9:07 PM hi i would like to know what i can do for my digestion. i take digestive enzymes but i would like to get off of them. if i dont take them i find every thing i eat seems to stay on my chest, like i need to belch all the time & amp; the lower part of my stomach hurts.if i take enzymes i am fine. i eat pretty good, not all raw veggies but some. some cooked veggies like sweet potatoes, no processed foods or sweets. very little meats. maybe a liter of water per day. but i noticed if i have very little water per day, only a glass or two i dont feel too bad. years ago i used to drink allot on weekends but only have 4-5 beer nowadays, (maybe the drinking has screwed my digestion) anyway i would like some suggestions, there must be a way to fix this. thanks lar
Guest guest
This made me think of kombucha. Couple weeks ago, I started drinking kombucha tea that I made, and after a few days of diarrhea (was it the kombucha?...) it *seems* to be normalizing my digestion. My problem was fiber; it seemed to take a little more than the recommended dose of fiber to keep things moving, but other times, they were moving too fast. We'll see; I'm watching it, haven't had any fiber for I guess those couple weeks, and don't need it. I believe kombucha has enzymes in it, so that might help you there. Guest guest
Triphala is an Ayurvedic herb that's very gentle and effective. Also slippery elm may help your digestive system (the inner powdered bark) You make a tea with it steeping the powdered bark in hot water. There are many other herbs to consider for digestive issues. " burdock, chamomile, cinnamon, dandelion root, fennel, ginger, marshmallow root, peppermint, spearmint, yellow dock " from Rosemary Gladstar's book Family Herbal Also, don't drink cold beverages with your meals, eat consciuosly without rushing through. Do you take probiotics daily? You can also make a mix of carminative seeds and chew a few between meals (fennel, cardamom, anise, cumin, etc) Drink a cup of peppermint tea 30 minutes before and after meals. Hope this helps!
