pain in the ears from using neti pot

Hello all,

I used neti pot just twice in two weeks or so. I used it primarily on my right

side, and shorter time on the left one. Yet, after 'flushing' my nostrils, i

started to have a really bad stabbing pain in the ears. Especially the left one

feels worse. Any idea, about what I did wrong, and what should I do  to relieve

that ear pain I am having now?

Thanks much,

Selver

In my experience, the ear pain came shortly before the end of the

stuffed-up ear. My right ear was so messed up that I had sort of given

up my hearing in that ear; nothing had helped. Not alternative

remedies, not MDs. Finally started using a neti pot, and got searing

pain in the right ear -- especially when I followed the directions on

the box and hung upside down and turned my head back and forth. But, I

hung in there, and the second time, the pain wasn't so bad, and after

a few more times, there was no pain at all, and my right ear is back

to normal for the first time in several years.

Neti pot also keeps those chronic sinus problems at bay, and any time

my nose starts getting stuffy (or otherwise irritated), I just use it

several times a day, and the problem never lasts long. BTW, the only

thing I've ever used in the neti pot is plain salt water.
