Guest guest
I am investigating this therapy----so far it looks GREAT - but - here in Utah it costs almost $700-900 just for the first visit. OUCH!!! As for me its way too expensive--only one doctor in Northern Utah does this. Is there another form of hormone replacement that wont cause cancer? When I went into menopause I never started hormones because of the stories. Bioidentical sounds wonderful but who can afford it. Thanks, SoPawGrandma
Guest guest
Yes, the cost can be rediculous. Not only the first visit but the cost of the cream each month. And, depending on where you are in your transition, you will need to go through another round of saliva testing and compounding every 3-6 months. A high quality progesterone cream can do the same for about $25 a month. It is actually considered " bioidentical " because the progesterone is identical to that produced by the body. Progesterone has the amazing ability to act as an adaptogen to balance the hormones. You can check my site for the only one I recommend. (No, it's not an MLM) Another approach is Peruvian Maca. It works in similar ways without the hormones. Hope that helps some, Michelle http://www.HolisticMenopause.com I am investigating this therapy----so far it looks GREAT - but - here in Utah it costs almost $700-900 just for the first visit. Guest guest
I took Bioidentical hormones and I didn't pay such an amount of money. Keep looking. You even can find some doctor by phone in another city or state who understands about this matter and order the tests and prescribes the hormones. Guest guest
Carol, A good way of locating a Dr that works with bioidentical hormones is to contact a compounding pharmacy in the area of search. The will be most helpful in giving you the name and phone number of practicing Dr.'s As far as the lab testing, this is something you can order on your own through https://sttm.mymedlab.com/ This lab is used quite often and successfully by the members of the Stop The Thyroid Madness group. I have used them several times with satisfaction. They have reduced their prices at this site, so they are not too bad. If you have questions about this, I will be happy to share more information.
