Guest guest
Greetings, I joined this list back in early June and wish to say that I enjoy being here. Early last night, my husband and I used our new juicer for the first time (thank you Organic Solutions!) and decided to make something simple, namely, organic carrot juice. We were a bit taken aback by the vivid orange color of the juice (hehe) and when we tasted it, we were amazed at its yumminess ('who knew???' - we hadn't!) The cool, sweet, uniquely flavored juice was refreshing at the end of the hot summer day... Juice 'newbie' that I am, I have two questions at this point regarding juicing: 1) are there any uses for the extruded pulp other than for making nifty composting material? 2) does one include the seeds when making fresh pomegranate juice? And one question regarding " Dragon Snot " : are the raw eggs are safe (salmonella free)? (I plan to use only organic eggs.) Well, I promise to share any original juicing recipes with the list that might occur to me once I get my bearings and learn a number of tried and true recipes. Regards, Holly

Guest guest
Hi Holly, Glad you're enjoying juicing! It's fun and tasty, huh!! I saw a post from someone a few weeks (I think) back talking about using the vegetable pulp from juicing in muffins. Sounded great to me, but I haven't tried it yet. There is a bread my husband occassionally gets from the health food store which has lots of carrots and raisins in it. Maybe you could try something like that? Don't know about the pomegranate juice.... My feeling on organic eggs is that they are safe, provided you have a good, reliable source for organic eggs. Best to investigate your sources yourself. (Find a local provider where you can visit the farm, talk to them, etc.) Hope this helps! :)Kelli Holly Cratty [hcratty] Friday, July 16, 2004 11:40 AMherbal remedies Subject: Herbal Remedies - discovering juicingGreetings,I joined this list back in early June and wish to say that I enjoy beinghere
