My two favorite herbs for edema are dandelion and stinging nettle.

Stinging nettle is best as an infusion or eaten, and as an extra

bonus it contains minerals that help strengthen the bones. Dandelion

is great- you can either eat it, make a tea, or take the tincture of

the root. Dandelion is rich in pottasium so it replenishes that

mineral. Most diuretics leech pottasium from the body. Other

diuretics: corn silk, horsetail, rosehips, chamomile, chicory...

there are more but I've listed all my favorites. Horsetail, rosehips,

and chamomile also have bone building nutrients.

One question- why does the edema exist? Hormones, high blood

pressure... in the long term it is good to treat the cause. I get

edema too and mine is hormone related.

Hi Jina,

You didn't say if you are diabetic or have heart problems. Both of

these can cause edema. If the herbs have not worked it is time to

see a Doctor.
