Guest guest
Hi Lauren- I did contact him and request his tapes. I have been seeing a neurologist, a opthamalogist and an opthamalogistsurgeon, an ENT Specialist as well as my regular MD. My condition is considered to be ideopathic- meaning that they are not really sure how and why the Cerbral Spinal FLuid does not reabsorb or is it that is is over producing. I have some theories from all of the readinga nd research I have done- YEARS OF IT- This condition strikes 1 in 100,000 people- most of whom are women of child bearing years who are overweight. Weight loss seems to lessen it- but does not alleviate it totally. Diamox and Lasix are the only know medicines to treat it right now. Everyplace in the head/skull is encase with BONES- the only soft spot for the fluid to build is behind the eyes and hence pushes on Discs/Nerves. There are Several names for my condition: PseudoTumor Cerebri or Ideopathic Intercranial Hypertension The effects mimic a brain tumor. I have had several MRIs, Cat Scans, Neurologic Testing, Seriologic Testing, Venuos (Vein Scans) To rule out any physical lesions/masses/bumps. This condition is self limiting- No one has ever died from it - however- a great number has gone blind from it. The pressure on the Vitreous of the eye cause visual loss -Vitreous is basically jelly like vessels full of blood. I am looking for powerfull herbal diuretic and herbs that are meant for eye health - that help with clotting / blood circulation. To keep the yes blood circulated while it is being compressed by the pressed nerve. In short- Modern Medicine is Garbage - I have studied and re-studied the modern medice and all of there technical books and information. My condition is under studied and because I am not at risk of dieing, or major medical trauma I am treated in the order of the severity of my case- meaning the people with the crush skulls, brain tumores and very severe problems get the study and treatment. Did I mention that Modern Medicine is Garbage- The Docs I have seen - I have presented evidence and research to and they would not look at it. Because I am not qualified to understand and comprehend what is on teh pages- Because I have no medical training. At one time- I was told that I had a severe sinus infection and that was causing the loss of my periferal vison. I know better now- I have had spinal taps showing my Cerbral Spinal Fluid elevated to 580 - If it were blood pressure youc ould compare it to 190 / 120 - Normal spinal pressure should be around 50 to 80- Did I mention Modern Medicine is Garbage? I am somewhat bitter and resentfull - that I have not really got any results of than being put on a diuretic. I have been poked, prodded and what not- done everthing they said=Nothing has been done for my visual loss- and If it were nto for my insurance-wich I pay $275 a month for- I would have some where in the ball park of 800,000 $$$ in med bills. Guest guest
I have a friend with the same exact thing and she has a peritoneum shunt that helps her. Through her research she has found that chemicals in her environment where she grew up (Needles, NM) cause this. She has 2 other friends (which she grew up with) with the same condition and one is blind. I wish my friend would be as open and willing to real medicine (naturopathic) as you are. Guest guest
Hi Lauren-I was offered the option of a shunt but decided the malfuction rate and effective rate were just too low. The first year - the effectiveness of the shunt is 55% - after that it goes down 10% every year. Last night I ordered som Bilbbery 300MGs from omnivite- $4.99 + FREE SHIP- it supposed to be very good for the capillaries in the eyes - I am hoping that the bilberry will keep my eyes circulated and avoid have a dead spot where there is visual obstruction - the nerve pushes the disc- pushes the vitreous and then its all blurry. But I knwo for a facvt that if it stays liek this much longer that section of the vitreous will die and it will become permanant. I have alwasy been open minded in life- I was one of those people who lived and died by what the Docs say- and ran to the MD Constatly for this that and the other. Now I see- that was a mistake- putting all that garbage into my body at high doses was very toxic. So - not to mention that fact that I am at a standstill with my PTC- If things don't get better soon- I may have to consider the shunt- The the failure rate is HIGH.
