Guest guest
How do you get the hulls off the nut? Do you remove when green or black? Do you dry them then? Any info on how to deal with the hulls would be great Thanks
Guest guest
Hi, The last time I picked up black walnuts we lived in the country and had a gravel driveway. We poured the green walnuts among the gravel in the driveway. As the walnuts dried the green turned black and the tires wore it off leaving the nuts. They need to dry out good before you start cracking them. If you don't have a gravel driveway just spread them where they can dry out and eventually you can shuck the black off by hand. You might want to wear some old gloves. Allisonnephthys1359 <Nephthys wrote: How do you get the hulls off the nut? vote. - Register online to vote today! Guest guest
I think the green hulls are needed. I don't remember how we got them off, only remember wearing gloves.
