Guest guest
Deana; I hear ya! About the husband and the kids and the nutrition. The oldest one is a dedicated label reader. Your right about the only place you can find healthy choices in the local grocery store is in the produce isle and then theres always the question of is GM really healthy. Organic costs twice as much and all it really means is that the land its farmed on has been free of herbacides, pesticides, and God know what else for a minimum of two years. Now my question is if it got dumped previously farmed for twenty years by traditional methods you really believe it all just goes away in two years? Then I get the husband thing of you have eyes in the front of your head your suppossed to eat meat. Perhaps but even the healthy meats like chicken you can't just get chicken it seems to all be injected with a solution of 15% broth which can contain a pelithera of things including but not limited to MSG, its in most of the turkey too. Just about anything canned, bagged, processed even stuff in health food stores will contain; Natural flavors, hydrogenated oils, aspartame, msg same junk different packaging and more expensive. Essentially if your not getting it at the source you really can't be sure of what your ingesting. For this reason we've talked about growing/raising our own, But then how do ya school four kids while freezing, canning, gardening, and tend'in critters? I can't keep up with the kids and house........... What ever ya do don't give up " CHANGE IS A PROCESS NOT AN EVENT " . Crisco went out the door a long time ago along with all hydrogenated oils and products containing them my husband still buys what he wants ocassionally, I just don't eat it (most of the time). I could say more but whats the point? It is frustrating the double talk labeling, the blatent advertising lies but ya live and learn. By the way thanks for the reminder on the bath. I have not indulged in that luxury well since a couple of birthdays ago but its coming up again (always shower never enough time). Take care and don't dispair!
