This sounds monumentally stupid. Yet another case where "scientist" fruitcakes need to be supervised by normal, healthful thinking men and women. And these sort of crackpot schemes should remain buried.

Somebody, somewhere will have the intent of weaponizing this virus. Samples will be passed around, and one of these people will make the virus "better." Just for the purpose of killing more people quicker.
