According to FDA guidelines, an item with less than 0.5 percent of trans fat per serving can be deemed "zero trans fat." One serving, however, is two cookies; since many people eat more than two at a single sitting, they could therefore be ingesting significant quantities of trans fats unintentionally.Trans fats increase levels of LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) and lower levels of HDL cholesterol (good cholesterol), increasing the risk of coronary heart disease. Guest guest
New Girl Scout Cookies Still Have Trans Fats>> Explain to me WHAT they are supposed to use? Remember that for FIFTY YEARS "the best dietiary experts" shrieked at us: Butter and milk and lard are EVIL. You must use margarine (transfats)." Are we supposed to be so DUMB, that we can not remember that? Now I take a lot at modern kids "raised on Dr.Spock wisdom" and they are all sad-looking blimps of blubber. The girls look like fat boys, the boys like fat girls. And this came "from listening to dietary experts".
Guest guest
You should have seen the amount of boxes sold at my job where i work by one of my co-worker who is very overweight! The cookie boxes were put in bigger boxes for some customers so to hold the many boxes they'd purchased, i saw about 9 boxes in one box for one person, maybe they were going to pass them out amongst family, i sadly hope so!~ Since i didnt buy any, the seller put one already opened box in front of my mailbox labeled "staff" so i wouldnt feel left out?? Guest guest
I understand..... I have some people in my own extended family who I care very much about and it kills me to see the garbage they continue to put in their mouths!!!!!! They sit there stuffing themselves w/ ice cream, pizza, and fried chicken, and ask me where I get my protein from while I am happily chowing down on my brussel sprouts!!! They will not listen to me though :-( And as adults it is their decision :-( Tricia "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated."-- Mohandas Gandhi - HAH Tuesday, March 20, 2007 11:41 PM Re: New Girl Scout Cookies Still Have Trans Fats I'm feeling bad now that i said my co-worker was very overweight, i mean, she is big but she's a happy big Italian girl that carries it really good to a point, for she is never tired, always doing something with her 2 young daughters and their Scouts Troop and is also a soccer mom~ I just only wish she would stop consuming things thats not good for her and her family, ya know? ok, time to go to bed:) Hempress ---- HAH 03/19/07 14:14:29 Re: New Girl Scout Cookies Still Have Trans Fats You should have seen the amount of boxes sold at my job where i work by one of my co-worker who is very overweight! Guest guest
You might ask them where they get their protein. Yeah the chicken has a little but fried is fat, as you know. And the other things listed? Small amounts of protein but .....Where do they get theirs. Incidentally, another excellent source of protein, howbeit somewhat expensive, is spirulina and chlorella. And still vegetable. - Amy G Dalin Wednesday, March 21, 2007 9:50 AM Re: New Girl Scout Cookies Still Have Trans Fats I understand.....
