Guest guest
I am wondering how many OIL WELLS we capped in the 1960s and 1970s which could be working wells in the oil fields of Southern Illinois. Seems to me I can remember how we were told we had plenty of oil to last for 10,000 years. I also know that because of the Environmental Agency that a lot of the oil wells are staying capped, because of the cost to get around the regulations of this Agency. Had a friend who thought he would try and help the country out by uncapping his wells in Indiana. Well, by the time he paid for the EA to come and give him all the paper work, etc. he decided it was too much trouble -- so the oil is still in the ground in America. A long time ago in the latter 60's, I heard that we were capping our wells so we could use up what the Middle East produced -- and when their wells ran out, we would have the oil the world needed. thea
