Milk of Magnesia - Active Ingredient: Magnesium hydroxide. Inactive ingredient: purified water (probably from city water??) Warnings: Ask a doctor before use if you have: kidney disease stomach pain, nausea or vomiting a magnesium restricted diet noticed a sudden change in bowel habits that lasts more than 2 weeks Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if you are: presently taking a prescription drug. Antacids may interact with certain prescription drugs. In reading it I was reminded of how in the 1940's and early 1950's my father would have us take "Milk of Magnesia" when we got the "flu". After about the second dose (the first usually came right back up) it would stay down and within 12 hours we would be well -- except for a few more trips to the bathroom.
