FDA No Longer Accepting Most Emailed Comments -

But You Can Still Be Heard!

WASHINGTON, November, 2007- As many of you already know who have tried to take action in response to alerts in our most recent newsletter, the FDA is no longer accepting comments to most of its staff via email. Special thanks to all of you that emailed us to let us know!

The FDA had already stood in the way of those wishing to have their voices heard regarding the dangers of Splenda, or sucralose, and removed our citizens petition to revoke approval for this toxic substance from the list of dockets for which they are accepting comments. In response, we simply advocated that comments from members be sent directly to the email addresses of key personnel.

Now, possibly as a reaction to the thousands of comments you all have sent on sucralose and in opposition to food from cloned animals, they are no longer accepting comments emailed to personnel either!

We didn't let this stop us before, and we won't let them silence us now.

We have obtained a new email address for comments on cloning issues.

Click here to send an email in support of labeling meat and milk from cloned animals in the event that the FDA approves this new technology.

We have also found a way around their obstacles to being heard on the dangers of Splenda, or sucralose.

Click here to go to our action page for Splenda. Click on the "Take Action" link and follow the instructions in the article to be taken to the FDA comment form on Foods and Food Issues.

Once again, a hearty "Thank You" to all of you whose diligence in making your voice heard moved you to contact us about the blocking of comments to FDA email addresses. Together, we represent the largest, still-emerging movement in the country, and when we act together, no one can ignore the power of our collective voice.

Thanks for taking action,

The Citizens for Health Team
