Guest guest
Is it safe or okay to take Oleander Soup/Sutherlandia OPC while on pain medication like Morphine etc? Thanks, John
Guest guest
Hi John, Because of the cardiac glycosides Oleander and Sutherlandia OPC contain, the only medications that they are not compatible with are dioxin/digitalis and blood thinners such as Coumadin because its cardiac glycosides. You can take either Oleander and Sutherlandia OPC with pain medication. Guest guest
I'm sorry I wasn't clear. When I refer to Oleander, I refer to the soup we make at home and Sutherlandia OPC. Sutherlandia OPC also contains oleander, but it also contains another ingredient, Sutherlandia Frutescens, otherwise known as the Cancer Bush, that is known as a healing agent in treating various conditions. Guest guest
Sutherlandia OC contains 80% oleander extract and 20% Sutherlandia Frutescens. In the case of the capsules, the oleander part is freeze dried and the amount of powder obtained in this way is mixed with 250mg Sutherlandia Frutescens per capsules. That is why the capsules show 66mg 'concentrated Nerium Oleander extract'. The 80% oleander extract of each 500ml liquid in the bottle produces an average of 66mg dried oleander extract powder. Guest guest
So what we order is technically better than the home made?--- On Sat, 11/22/08, May <luellamay129 wrote: May <luellamay129 Re: Taking the Oleander/Sutherlandia OPC while on pain medication (Morphine, etc)oleander soup Date: Saturday, November 22, 2008, 8:39 PM I'm sorry I wasn't clear. Guest guest
Actually, I would say it is better only because you can be assured of its safety and you can be assured that it is the proper dosage. There is no room for mistakes. In making oleander soup one must be assured that the plant has not been sprayed with commercial pesticides and must also follow the directions explicitly. If you feel numness or tingling of the lips and tongue while tasting it, it has been sprayed and the soup must be discarded immediately. With Sutherlandia OPC you do not have these worries. As for being better because of it also containing the Sutherlandia Frutescens, I really don't know. Actually, I am not sure what part the Sutherlandia Frutescens plays. I am not proficient in the workings of this plant, other than I know it is called the "Cancer Bush" in South Africa and it is used to treat a wide variety of conditions. Maybe Marc can jump in and explain the part Sutherlandia Frutescens plays. I will say that Oleander Soup made at home has been a very successful agent in healing cancer. Some of the success stories come from this very forum. All in all, the main ingredient, Oleander, is what plays a major role in healing cancer. Hope I've answered your question. Guest guest
Sutherlandia Frutescens is known as "cancer bush" in South Africa. As the name implies, many people use it to combat cancer. I have included it in the Sutherlandia OPC mixture more as an immune booster than for its cancer fighting ability. On the main Sutherlandia Frutescens site (http://www.sutherlandia.org) they have the following to say about it regarding cancer: ...There is preliminary clinical evidence that Sutherlandia has a direct anticancer effect in some cancers, and also acts as an immune stimulant, but Sutherlandia should not be recommended as a so-called “universal cancer cure”, but rather as a quality-of-life tonic...
