Guest guest
I am always interested in the medicinal use of herbs and have stopped using Sloan-Kettering as a reference because of their unerring bias against anything not mainstream medicine (MSM).That said, I find this one follows MSM as usual. It is good that they note interactions with several antibiotics. However the list of drug interactions is quite small. They parrot FDA claims that CS is not effective in spite of clear benefits experienced by thousands of users. For me, it has cleared an infection that antibiotics could not.The biggest warning they have is regarding bluish skin (argyria) and the death of one patient attributed to CS. Relative to bluish skin, I cannot say that it is not possible. While most cases have been caused by massive overuse of CS or ingestion of silver salts (not CS) there could be some who are predispositioned to the condition. Recommended dosages of CS by suppliers are usually much lower than the daily levels of silver considered safe by the FDA. I would strongly suggest following the recommended dosages. If you purchase the study regarding the elderly man whose death was attributd to CS you will find that the man had discontinued use of CS over 3 months before the seizure and coma. An autopsy found some residule silver in the brain but not a large amount. The study concludes that since they could not determine any other cause for the man's death it must have been caused by the CS. It leaves you wondering if it was ignorance or dishonesty that determined the study's conclusion. - Steve-oleander soup <oleander soup >oleander soup <oleander soup >Sun Nov 23 05:16:20 2008 Negative info on Colloidal SilverI know there must be flaws in this.http://www.mskcc.org/mskcc/html/69189.cfm <http://www.mskcc.org/mskcc/html/69189.cfm>
Guest guest
The entire article is one big flaw. The first clue is that it is put out by Sloan-Kettering. The statements with regard to colloidal silver in this article are all false and nothing but a scare tactic so that people will not touch colloidal silver, instead falling victim to their use of antibiotics. They do admit that that until the mid 20th century colloidal silver was used to treat certain diseases. The following sentence is rather comical. "Until safer methods came along" referring to antibiotics. The truth is until more profitable methods came along. Mainstream medicine will never have any clinical data with regard to the success colloidal silver has in treating the human body, because it is not in its best interests. The "clinical data" comes from people like me, like you, who tell of their success stories and newfound health. I will unequivocally state that colloidal silver can be a healing agent in all the conditions this article states cannot be cured.... and more. By taking colloidal silver every day, at the very least, you will strengthen your immune system, thereby preventing disease. I have my own testimonies with regard to myself and my "furkid" Misty. One is that upon starting to take colloidal silver a few years ago, I came down with a very bad case of the flu. I had attributed this to the fact that my immune system didn't have time to build up. One thing that was different though, after the "flu" ran its course, I did not come down with the subsequent pneumonia or respiratory infection, if I was lucky, which I aways got. Winter was always a long, drawn out ordeal. So I attributed this as a "win." That was the last time I was ill. I am at the Utopia Silver Offices this week and on talking with Ben Taylor have found out that I truly did not come down with the "flu." What happened was a huge Herxheimer's reaction. I had so many toxins in my body that it was doing a total cleansing and I became very ill for about a week. A Herxheimer's reaction can give you flu like symptoms. When I told him that this bout was not followed by the usual pneumonia or respiratory infection, he stated that this was, in fact, only a Herxheimer's reaction. So, that year upon first taking colloidal silver, I did not get the flu and have not been ill since. The article further states that colloidal silver interacts with antibiotics. First of all, I do not believe this. Colloidal silver would only help. I state that colloidal silver will cure any infection you have and you don't need antibiotics. Antibiotics come with their own side effects, some of them quite uncomfortable and dangerous, and have nothing to do with colloidal silver. In fact, I always advise against the use of antibiotics or any other type of mainstream drug. As for colloidal silver causing seizures and kidney damange I will say that this is an outright falsehood and scare tactic. And as for Argyria, that can only happen if you ingest quarts of a badly home made concoction every day for years. And, by the way..... It is reversible. Let me leave you with the following article written by Tony. Colloidal Silver Has Mainstream Medicine "Singing the Blues" So, rest your mind. Colloidal silver is the safest and best thing that you can do for your body. If an article on colloidal silver or any other supplement is written by a mainstream institution, it will most likely be false and will include scare tacticts intimidating people to go the mainstream, for profit, way. There is a war waging on natural healthcare.
