Guest guest
I agree completely - the first choice for the vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients and such that we need should always be nature. When we are unable to get what we need from nature, as is too often the case, then the next best source are supplements derived from nature. Much less desireable are the synthetic forms. And worst of all is no source at all. The reality of today's world, with our mineral depleted soils from over-farming and chemicals that kill the soil micro-organisms which convert rock minerals into bioavailable forms, and our over processed foods on the grocers shelves which take out natural nutrition and replace it with synthetics and a cascade of additives for shelf life, taste, color and texture is that it is virtually impossible to get merely the minimum amount of all the minerals and vitamins needed from diet alone, much less therapeutic amounts needed to correct deficiencie and imbalances and fight serious illness such as cancer. Magnesium is just one example (and as many as 90 to 95% of the population is deficient in magnesium). See my article "Magnesium is Vital for Good Health" http://www.naturalnews.com/025567.html Trace minerals are another example - we are ALL deficient in some of them, and many of us are deficient in most of them. So is iodine a great example. Thanks to over-farming, replacing deplinished minerals with only a handful of petrochemicals, and our over processed foods, more and more of us are becoming more and more deficient. Add to that all the toxins we have introduced to the environment and the sedentary lifestyle much of the population has adopted, and the increasing dependence on lab-created and side effect laden mainstream drugs and it is easy to see why cancer and other chronic conditions are increasing while our infant mortality and longevity rates have plummeted well below 20th in the world despite spending far more per capita on healthcare than any other country. The ideal plan, to me, is to supplement in a balanced manner and in a sufficient amount to overcome illness and restore your body and then only do as much as is necessary to maintain proper nutrition and keep your immune system strong. And in the instance of a condition like cancer, perhaps a few items in maintenance amounts to insure that you keep it at bay once you beat it. oleander soup , "Duane Christensen" <duanechristensen wrote:>> Tony,> > Thank you for your quick response on this one.
