I don't know the answer to your question, but I have a homemade

infrared LED array, and I find that it really works well for certain

types of soft tissue injuries.

 

There are a couple of where people are experimenting

with IR therapy, " magnetikon " and " NearInfraredTherapy " . The most

interesting application is probably on the brain.
