Guest guest
Dear Danamarie, Your thanks almost overwhelmed me! but I think i'll survive;-) Anyway, i forgot to mention the basic contribution of Buddhism to medicine, not only in China, but wherever people look for the 'whence and where' questions. And that is the Four Noble Truths, and the three obscurements of consciousness: desire(attachment), aversion(anger) and ignorance, allied with the identification with the body, the sense of 'I', and 'mine'. The illusions of attachment arising from ignorance of our true Being (being ever restfull in itself) give rise to all bondage and suffering. The reflections of this in the three humours(Air, Bile and Phlegm), lead to diseases of the mind/body.
