Guest guest
Hi I am writing an article trying to gauge what it is that turns people away from these treatments. One obvious one was a fear of needles, and the next big reason I found was that many people are truly afraid of some permanent, possibly paralyzing damage being caused to their back/spine Here is the rough draft article, I hope to revise it but wanted some real opinions about hurdles/ fears overcome in your choice to use traditional healing Thanks http://www.helium.com/tm/115917/afraid-needles-thought-becoming <http://www.helium.com/tm/115917/afraid-needles-thought-becoming>

Guest guest
actually TCM usually views acute cold and flu as an invasion from the exterior (wind with cold, heat or damp). This can come about from a weakness in the qi. Blockages are more likely to cause pain, emotional distress or more internal medicine disease. Acupuncture that is done for acute colds is designed to vent wind and stregthen qi. More often herbs are used that have the same function and when researched shown to be powerful antiviral/bacterials as well as increase wbc Be well, Bob www.acuherbals.com miss_laurita95 <miss_laurita05 wrote: Hi I am writing an article trying to gauge what it is that turns people away from these treatments. Acupuncture also sometimes can have a problem for people who are Kidney Yin Deficiency and/or magnesium deficient because either can lower the pain theshold. Something you see with a lot of PWCs (People With CFIDS) is that a touch can feel painful. PWCs tend to be Mg deficient and often suffer from Yin Deficiency too. But sometimes, depending on other imbalances and feelings of numbness in some areas of the body, the person may not feel the needles (including shots) in certain parts of the body until the person's health starts to improve. I barely felt the Mg shots for the first 9 months I was on them. When one can feel them, Mg stings quite a bit.
Guest guest
Hi, Laurita: I have severe back pain, and after a massage therapist recommened, I went to a doctor who was able to do acupuncture and massage. Evidently my problems were so severe that they required acupuncture. I went along with the doctor for six months in China. This guy gave 25 needles up and down my legs from points in my lower spine. His attitude was that I was a foreigner and could not handle pain. He just jabbed me and forced the needle with lots of force. At one point, an older woman was present when the guy jabbed me and hit nerves, I screamed in pain. The woman scolded him for hurting me, but he shrugged it off to my being a foreigner. Eventually I discovered that the doctor should have used no more than six needles per session, so I stopped attending. He used too much force and caused far too much pain than was necessary. I've recently found a massage therapist who uses considerable pressure, but who also acheives results. At the same time, I've switched to herbal treatments in place of acupuncture. Hope that helps, Jack --- miss_laurita95 <miss_laurita05 wrote: > Hi > > I am writing an article trying to gauge what it is > that turns people > away from these treatments.
