Guest guest
he will be going in on Monday, and I will ask for the check up on blood and urine, et cetera. But they will assuredly tell us that this is just his tumor creating the symptoms. I am sure of that. We are always asking for checks on potassium, etc. Unfortunately, though, the doctors have written my husband off, and really don't give much attention to our requests. We will request that kidney function, and the like, be checked again since we just did this about 1 1/2 weeks ago, and will insist on it again, but I really wish to have some suggestions for a natural therapy, as I doubt the MD's will do much. They have only pushed for hospice of late.--- On Thu, 6/11/09, May <luellamay129 wrote: May <luellamay129 Re: Lysis Syndromeoleander soup Date: Thursday, June 11, 2009, 4:35 PM Does your doctor know about this? Guest guest
Lisa,What are your husband's symptoms? It may be that he should be taken to a doctor as soon as possible. Tumor Lysis Syndrome is very serious. I believe that the treatment involves monitoring the electrolytes and an IV may be necessary.Hopefully the doctors on the forum will come online and advise you. This is beyond my scope of knowledge and I would hesitate to give you any advice without a professional opinion.Hugs, oleander soup , Lisa Tovar <tov_legsec wrote:>> he will be going in on Monday, and I will ask for the check up on blood and urine, et cetera. Guest guest
He's better the last two days. I do believe he is out of the worst of it. He has brain cancer, so it is very difficult to know what he is experiencing. As I said, the doctors have been trying to get us to do hospice, and when I discuss his symptoms, they are quite sure to say that this is expected and that it is disease progression and to make him comfortable. He had a profuse egg whitey substance coming out of his nose and a very large bowel movement and since that seems better. We are focusing on hydrating him now, and he seems improved. I do not want hospitalization if at all avoidable because then they load him up on morphine. He has not had much pain at all lately, just seems weak and tired.--- On Thu, 6/11/09, May <luellamay129 wrote: May <luellamay129 Re: Lysis Syndromeoleander soup Date: Thursday, June 11, 2009, 5:02 PM Lisa,What are your husband's symptoms? Guest guest
Hi Lisa,I suggested hospitalization as lysis syndrome can be life threatening. That's why I asked for symptoms. Hydrating him, I believe, is the best you can do. Keep those electrolytes in balance. That together with liver cleanses.Keep me posted.Hugs, oleander soup , Lisa Tovar <tov_legsec wrote:>> He's better the last two days. I do believe he is out of the worst of it. Guest guest
Thanks for the word of caution. Unfortunately, for my poor husband everything is life threatening at this time, and we are faced with the dilemma that everyone is expecting him to die, and any day now. --- On Fri, 6/12/09, May <luellamay129 wrote: May <luellamay129 Re: Lysis Syndromeoleander soup Date: Friday, June 12, 2009, 9:47 AM Hi Lisa,I suggested hospitalization as lysis syndrome can be life threatening. Guest guest
I hate that aspect of mainstream medicine. What has happened to compassion and the desire to heal?Hugs, oleander soup , Lisa Tovar <tov_legsec wrote:>> Thanks for the word of caution.
