Guest guest
Hello everyone, As some of you may know, my wife Audrey has been taking oleander pills (4/ day) for about three months now, for her breast cancer. She had been showing slow, steady improvement for the last couple of months, but we seem to have hit a snag. Her energy level starting going down, along with a slight drop in her hemoglobin level, which for us has always mirrored how she " feels " . She also started complaining of swelling and painful lymph nodes in her neck. Monthly blood test results were mixed, with a great drop in her alk/phos levels-almost in the normal range at 122 (normal= 30-115) for the first time in about a year- it had peaked around 600 a couple of times. Her doctor told us he interpreted that as a sign her bones were healing. So that is great, but her CEA cancer marker went from 20 to 54 in a month (normal = 0-3).We try not to let the marker levels worry us too much, one theory being that they can rise as dead cancer cells hit the bloodstream, but that coupled with her decline in health has us worried. She also lost some weight, probably because of persistent mild to moderate diarrhea from the oleander. She is not painfully thin, but does not want to lose any more weight. All very confusing to us. In a way, I wanted her to up the oleander to 6/day in case the cancer has moved to her lymph system, but also did not want to worsen the gastric problems. Anyway, what we did is decided for her to take a break from the oleander( sticking with most of the rest of Tony's protocol), and try some hi-dose vitamin C for a month. We will see what next months blood tests show. In the meantime, best wishes to all, Sincerely, Al Secrest
