Guest guest
I'd also love the instructions, I think we can handle it! Guest guest
Hi Janet, I am not sure if this is in response to me offering the technicalities, but I will assume so to be on the safe side of things. Google some picture with the colon and have a good look how it runs in relation to your body. It is imperative to get the solution to the appendix end of the colon and that needs a bit of an exercise. having a peek at the picture will help you to appreciate the slight exercise you have to do while taking the enema. It takes some 40 minutes of bathroom time for a single enema and about an hour for a double, including the setup and cleaning up. For identification, I will refer to three part of the colon in the following manner. A) beginning at the appendix side to the first bend " riser " B) mid portion between the bends " horizontal " C) second bend to rectum " rectal " You will need: 1. An enema bag kit for intestinal enemas. 2. A sealable container for edible oil to lubricate rectum as well as the end of the enema hose. 3. Plastic jug(s) for the solution about 1.5 quart volume 4. Some 2 - 3 feet of a reasonably strong string, like a shoe lace. Make an ear from the string to be able to hang the enema kit off the shower head pipe so, that it ends up 4 - 5 feet above the bottom of the bathtub. Make it loose, so you do not have to tie and retie every time. Get some towel next to the bathtub, because you will drip a lot on the floor getting in and out of the tub wet, having no time to dry yourself off. Get your solution ready in a jug (or two for a double) at a temperature very slightly above the body. It should feel barely warm on the back of your hand. Hang the enema kit bag on the shower pipe by the ear you have made and fill it with the solution, after you made sure that its valve is closed. Place the closed oil container ready on the rim of the bathtub. Fill the bathtub somewhat more than ankle deep with reasonably warm water, which will cushion your weight and keep you warm. Adjust to suit with consecutive enemas. Lie in the tub on your back with your feet to the shower, lubricate the hose and the rectum with the oil (close the container once done as you are likely to knock it off the tub rim) and insert the enema hose roughly an inch in. Feel for the valve and open it slightly. The solution coming in will start opening the colon and make further insertion easier. You only need to get it in about 5-6 inches, as gently as it will go, without any feeling of pain. It will take a bit of self training when it comes to getting the correct angle of it. Place your left foot on the rim of the bathtub next to the faucet and lift the left side of your pelvis up about 4-5 inches. This allows the solution to go by gravity through the rectal into the horizontal parts of the colon. Once you feel that the solution is somewhat swelling the colon in the horizontal, or feel the need to go, turn half way onto your right side keeping it down and keeping the left side up, may be even lifting the left side higher. Let the solution run till you feel that " you may have to go " . Pull out the hose (shut it off if you can) keeping the stuff in and turn fully on your right side still keeping the left side a bit up. This gets the solution into the riser. Slight palpitations of the belly will help to loosen the contents. You should be able to hold it for 10, even 20 minutes in this position for the solution ingredients to get absorbed, without having to run. Having enough of it, turn back on your back, place right foot on the bathtub rim and lift the right side of your pelvis to empty the riser into the horizontal. Turn half way onto your left side keeping the right side up, but be ready to get out and on the toilet. If it worked well, turn fully on your left side, lift your torso and get out and on the bowl. You may need to repeat this ap to 4 times at a go, if you are emptying lets say constipation. This is from others, I did only an empty colon and two were more than enough. An empty colon takes 1.3 to 1.8 liters of solution, depending on the person's size. Full colon will take substantially less. Never try to get all the solution you have poured into the bag into you. Take it by feel and easy. You will get hang of it quite fast. Once done, a shower, tidy up the setup and you will feel much better. With kind regards, Slavek P.S. You may need to find a store which sells health accessories, rather than a drug store, to get the enema kit. I bought the only one they had, a disposable for $4.50. The valve was a junk and broke quite soon, but I used a large paper clip, broke the hose far enough from the end and pinched it with the clip. Opening and closing of the break in the hose served me as a valve from then on. Yet, I would recommend some sensible quality kit. lostrin wrote: > > I'd also love the instructions, I think we can handle it! > > Janet
