Guest guest
Just went to the MD and I have an appt at the acucollege this afternoon. I am posting this now so perhaps I will have an answer or two before I settle in for the evening. Yesterday, I had swollen glands and no other symptoms starting mid morning. Later on that day I had slight chills despite my apartment being quite warm. Today, I have teary eyes and a sore throat in addition to tender glands. Actually, the right side is more swollen. The MD ruled out strep throat despite possible exposure because I am not all that sick. Didn't even prescribe anti-biotics, just some pain reliever for the throat and something for teary eyes. (Speaking of teary eyes, the MD checked my liver, I don't remember why. No tenderness.) Yet, I am getting sicker as the day goes by, starting to feel kind of nauseous now, so I am going to get some TCM before i get too bad. Plus, being the beginning of the week, I don't have the luxury of taking the weekend to sleep it off. My tongue has a slight yellow tinge except for the heart/lung area which is kind of bald, at least I think so. Elimination is good. (Esp. since I cut out ice cream for the last 24 hours. -sheepish grin-) My question is, can I eat the mild, though highly seasoned turkey chili with beans I prepared or should I avoid it and prepare some chicken soup? (I don't really feel like cooking.) Any other self-care suggestions or a pre-prepared soup I can buy? I live fairly close to my city's chinatown. There is a vietnamese market 2 minutes away. I am sure the acupuncturists will have suggestions, but I like that this list has a multidisciplinary cadre of folks. Also, I had an huge emotional upset on Saturday and started menses on Sunday if that helps. Probably been eating too much ice cream, too. (I am sure I will get spanked for that one:-~) Syria
