Guest guest
I'm new to this list. I would like to know about ZhongYi method to heal Urinary tract bacteria infection and bladder infection and any dietary methods/habits to prevent getting it. Is it same method of treatment for woman or man? Please provide your inputs and weblinks to support your input. Thank you very much. ______________________________\ ____Be a better Heartthrob. Guest guest
Hi Mike: Welcome to the list, let me try to answer your question. First, when you talk about bacteria and infection, these are terms that come from western medicine. It is important to state the problem in terms of Chinese medicine (Zhong Yi). There are a number of disease patterns associated with the bladder and urinary tract, and these can be discerned on the basis of symptoms. Whether or not these disease patterns are the same for men and women depends upon the actual type of disease pattern in question. There are a number of related disease patterns in Chinese medicine, many of them based on repletion or vacuity patterns, including: bladder damp-heat, bladder Qi block, bladder Qi transformation failure, bladder vacuity block, then inhibited urination, urinary block, dribbling urinary block, urinary turbidity and strangury, to mention a few. So you'd have to try to think of bladder infections in terms of Chinese medicine and state the problem in those terms. No weblinks, the source of this information is Wiseman and Ye. Guest guest
Bacterial infections are generally a matter of excessive heat, which can be prevented by eating more cooling foods (summer fruits and vegetables, raw salads, soybeans and soy products, salty foods, fish and seafood) and less warming foods (roasted, grilled and barbecued foods, cabbage family vegetables, coffee and other bitter foods). But UTI can also be caused by excessive cold, in which case prevention consists of increasing warming foods and decreasing cooling foods. The time of year at which UTI occurs is generally a clue as to which one it is. For treatment of an existing condition, a consultation with a TCM practitioner is best. The nutritional prevention system is from the " Yellow Emperor's classic of internal medicine " . Amazon has several editions available: <http://www.amazon.com/exec/ obidos/search-handle-url/index%3Dblended & field-keywords%3Dyellow%20emperor>. Hope this helps. Good luck!
