Guest guest
Hi Brenda, I have copied these into my file from the past posts from this forum from various people and these are some of the information you might be looking for. Hair loss Just a quick thought I had regarding essential oils for hair loss. In 30 mls of carrier oil add 4 drops each of lavender, sage & rosemary essential oils. Massage well into the hair, giving yourself a good scalp massage at the same time to increase the blood supply to the scalp. Cover your head with a hot towel & leave for 20-30 mins before using a mild shampoo. Also by adding some liquid lecithin to the mix, ( I use 1 capsule and squeeze it out) it acts as an emulsifier, allowing the oils to be more easily washed out as well as being good for your hair. Hair Growth Someone posted that they wanted their hair to grow and a nettle infusion was suggested to them. 1/2 cup olive or avocado oil, 1 handful (about 1/3 cup) dry nettle leaf, 1 organic egg. Blend it together and massage into scalp and hail. Cover hair with a towel and let it sit for 20 min. Then shampoo as usual. Hair Loss Hair loss, particularly in women, can be caused by excess protein in the diet. Each person has an ideal protein balance. This may vary widely from one individual to another. I have heard on the list before that you should tincture nettles and then rub nightly into the scalp. A balanced, adequate diet is the first place to start. (always start on the inside) If you're not already using one, get a hair brush made with natural bristles. At least once a day, lie on the bed with your head hanging off the edge and, starting at the hairline, massage the scalp in tiny little circles all the way to the crown. A hair rinse (leave in) of rosemary and/or sage can be made as follows: 1/4 cup herbs in 1 cup water. Bring to a boil, remove from heat and cover for 20 minutes. Strain and add the infusion to 1 cup vinegar. After each shampoo put 1/4 cup of this rinse in ½ cup water for a final, leave in rinse. A natural shampoo would also be of help. Some say that castor oil is used in some hair care products to encourage hair growth. I'm assuming these would be shampoos. For me my hair loss was due to a hormonal imbalance. Mine actually improved when I went to a low carb diet, increased my protein and started to balance my hormones. There is a formula for the Female balance in the archives. Not only did my hair stop falling out, it became shiny again and stopped turning gray. For some people the B vitamins are a big help. Rosemary supposedly keeps dark hair dark. I have a hairdresser friend who swears by it, and it may be the reason that at 60 I have less grey hair than anyone else in my family had at 50. I think a mixture of rosemary and nettle would be a good combination for your hair. And in your case also a natural shampoo would benefit greatly. I believe someone else mentioned b vitamins. A *good* complete b complex is in order when taking so many meds. If at all possible seek a naturopath and see if you can get off the chemical meds. NATURAL HAIR COLOURANTS Copyright ? Colouring hair with natural ingredients requires perseverance and care but the results are not only improved colour but healthier, shinier and fuller hair. Many books suggest using the herbs as a rinse but it has been my experience that the infusion/decoction needs to be left on the hair for some time to make an appreciable difference. Henna (Lawsonia inermis) is a plant which yields a semi-permanent red dye from its dried leaves. It has been used in India and the Middle East for centuries to dye hair (and various parts of the body such as the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet). I have quit using conditioner. It just seamed to make my hair fall out since I quit and started using olive oil my hair has been shiny and smooth and very manageable. I just put a smearon my hands a little more for long heavy hair while still wet and brush it through no tangles to be found. now style lovely. Guest guest
wow, that was alot of great info with exact directions for people like me to be able to do this at home..when you use a mild shampoo afterwards, what kinds do you use? from a regular store or a specialty store (beauty supply, health store, etc)? my hair has been thinning out but when i am pregnant, it is back to normal, so i know my hormone levels are elevated due to the prgenancy, but i look at it as if my body is able to re-grow hair period, then there has to be something i am lacking or have too much of....i just have to find out what it is and what i can do!!! I believe the body is so powerful that there has to be some natural remedy to help me..the dermatologists want to put me on rogaien for women and retina gel for my scalp,e tc...but these make me nervous..i am afraid of what ill-effects will occur from these things...does anyone know? herbal remedies [herbal remedies ] On Behalf Of fluffybunnyyyThursday, January 05, 2006 8:07 PMherbal remedies Subject: Herbal Remedies - Re: balding Hi Brenda,I have copied these into my file from the past posts from this forum from various people and these are some of the information you might be looking for. Guest guest
I have been balding since I was about 18 or 20. I am concerned about what is causing this. I know these things aren't natural. There must be a kidney problem. My Kindeys ,should I say, energies aren't moving. There's problem one. Is it right to focus one Kindney enregy or could it be something else? There are a few other problem balding issues too, but for a man to lose his hair as he grows older is not a problem, but for during winter when wearing a hat becomes a requirement. In some cultures, getting old, really old, suggests that you must be of high moral character as they connect health and morality. Traditional Chinese society got in to this sort of thing. It's not coming out in clumps Al or anything like that. I'm 38 now and I'm bald on top I'm going to have to start wearing a dewrag or something on my head I don't like hats very well. Including baseballcaps. Western medicines says there are about 4 things that causes this. Testosterone is one attacking the hair folicules. To me this is not normal. Put 1-3 tablespoons in a pan, cover with an inch of water. Let soak for 10 minutes. Scrape the floaters off the top, those are empty hulls. Boil for 10 minutes. Allow to cool. Eat the seeds, drink the water. Tastes nutty. Raspberries and raspberry tea are good too. Walnuts, black beans, black rice. Red grapes have lots of qi. Male pattern baldness is difficult to treat in TCM. And generally. But it's normally considered due to essence deficiency. Find a good herbalist. Some cases can be more easily treated than others, depending on the pattern. Find an organic butcher and eat liver and kidney. There are some good medicinal teas to tonify and strengthen essence too. I can probly scan them in if you want. Mercurius Trismegistus Conserve sex emissions. Get Mantak Chia's book(s) on sex qigong. And find a good instructor for regular qigong. Walk at least 30 minutes a day. Even better is qigong walking. Tuck your thumbs inside your hands to prevent the qi from spraying out. Put your tongue to the roof to encourage " microcosmic orbit " circulation. Get plenty of fresh air and sunlight. Try to walk for more than 30 minutes a day. The more the better. I don't think that anybody considers male pattern baldness to be an auto-immune disorder such as lupus or rheumatoid arthritis. It does seem to be a pathological process (male pattern balding) in that I can see no evolutionary benefit to hair loss. But I don't see any evolutionary benefit to losing one's ability to conceive (menopause) either. Fact is, for most of our history, we just weren't living that long. The goal of the species was to get pregnant and drop a kid before you were 20, and that gave you just enough time to raise the next generation before falling victim to some two-bit bacteria anyway. So, again I return to the idea that hair-loss rocks! Get yourself your dewrag and wear it with pride knowing that you bucked the odds. You lived longer than your prehistoric ancestors, and as such you get to experience the joys of old-age from hair loss to brittle bones and incontinence. Life has cunningly hidden such blessings within its curses. -- , DAOM Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.
