Guest guest
Hi Doug, Uninvited but have a friend who just had this issue and it was super important that he see an opthamologist and get immediate laser surgery to re-attach it. It really helped! Apparrently the longer they wait the less recovery. Hope they are just floaters, but if it truly torn or detached, I'm guessing herbs will not reattach it. All the best! Guest guest
My mother actually went through this retinal detachment recently too. I agree that the Western intervention may be better to reattach or prevent any further damage right now. As a matter of prevention in the future, there are a number of Chinese herbal formulas that work on the Liver system which is said to " open to the eyes " which means that vision and eye health are addressed through the health of (Chinese concept of the) Liver. There are different formulas that address vision and eye health, but the most important thing to keep in mind is that some people will require a formula that reduces excess such as Tian Ma Gou Teng Yin. There are also formulas that nourish deficiencies such as Ming Mu Di Huang Wan. Knowing if you have an excessive or deficient condition is kind of important for one to know which formulas will be of greatest help to you. This is part of the diagnostic process that trained practitioners can help you with. -al.
