Guest guest
Hi, A friend of mine asked me to seek advice about one of her horses. Peanut is a 3 year old mare. She was bred in may/08. She was injured in mar/apr.... a possible kick or something just above her right knee/foreleg. For the most part she is fine, but every once in a while she will limp, especially if she trots or gallops. There doesn't appear to be any swelling. so it is evidently a bone or deep tissue injury. Are there any natural remedies that would be ok for a pregnant female horse ? Thanks....~malinda
Guest guest
Hi Malinda, since I'm practicing phyto-therapy in horses I dare to answer. That is very kind of you to try to help your friend! One shouldn't give just any herbs to try to clear the symptoms of limping, that would be very much western view. It could very well be a liver problem combined with blood stagnation, but in order to write the correct diagnosis, one would need to observe the horse and get all questions answered. I will send you a questionnaire, you could give the owner and then we could try to help the mare. Would that be ok with you? Regards, Iris Equis TCM Beratung & Heilkruter Inh.: Iris Brown Cert. Guest guest
Damn dude. We're only trained on humans. LOL. If it's bones, tonify kidney. If it's " sinews, " tonify liver. Get THE TAO OF NUTRITION or some book on Chinese Dietary Therapy. Veterinarians can do acupuncture on animals with little if any training. But there are good ones. mthiessen wrote: > Hi, > > A friend of mine asked me to seek advice about one of her horses. >
Guest guest
MSM would be my choice. It is often employed for this. I am not sure how they get them to ingest it, but they do.
