Diane Bryson >> I will always do an initial exam along with an indepth pulse dx (I am one of Dr Hammer's teaching crew and use his system entirely) , just to understand the underlining energetics and to understand why they are drawn to the smoking..obviously a smoking history and exploration of their smoking triggers .... mostly so that they are well aware of them is also useful. If there are energetic issues that I believe need attention, I will speak about it to them in terms of future therapy if they are interested. Most smoking patients have sought us out to only stop smoking...kind of curious. I have found that adding points to the protocol actually weakens it's effectiveness (though ear points do not seem to interfere) I will also use an herbal support formula, if neccessary. But people do very well with the tx alone. The third week and the third month seem to be the danger areas. I encourage patients to make an appointment at these intervals if their will is waning.
