Guest guest
Need help with this 26 yrs young woman with a persistent cough. Going all around the clock. Her family wants to kill her to just get away from that persistent nuisance. Obese, rapid pulse...sorry, I cant get a fix of the quality. Its in my mind but my tounge/finger wont work. Lack of knowledge. Psychological problems galore. I have tried everything (obviously not). Anyone else who has encountered this? Guest guest
Hi Janne, You have favorite problems to solve here all in one patient: Cough and psychological problems. I had that very same cough before during my college years, and I think I can help her. However, I need more information before I can be any assistance. I need to know the color of the tongue and the thickness and color of the coating. How long has the cough been a problem for her? How did it began (i.e. what was the original cause of it? Did it arise as a result of an unresolved infection from a flu/cold?)? Is there a particular time in the 24-hour period when the cough is most persistent? Is there seasonality i.e. a season in which the cough is most persistent? Does she cough up any sputum? If so, what is the color and consistency? More specific information on pulse would also be most helpful. Did the psychological problem originate after the persistent cough begin or did it arise independent of the cough? Regardless, how long has she been affected by the psychological problems? What are the specific of the psychological problems? What emotions does she feel? Anger? Depression? etc. What triggers them? How does she behave when she is feeling those psychological problems? What is her built and weight (in pounds please)? These two problems can be related, but I need the above info to be sure. I feel for her, because I know how much of an annoyance this kind of cough can be for her and for the people around her. As a matter of fact, while in graduate school, a former classmate recognized me by my cough. I look forward to your reply. Ming H. Guest guest
Ming I really stepped into it this time. To many things in my head. YOU are the doctor I was going to ask. Mix up big time and a lot of egg on my face. Now public. I´m going to take a photo of her tongue and mail it to you, if thats ok. Since tongue reading is a very subjective thing its better to have a good photograph and then we can see if our evaluations corresponds. You have my adress, so mail me if its ok.
